Walking Dead

Diesel, old diesel cars, and trucks. Diesel fuel doesn't go bad the same way gasoline does.

With that said, it is a freaking tv show with zombies. Who cares about gasoline and batteries.

I'm not pointing out "reality" flaws of the show. (I don't even watch it, actually.) I'm just curious about how it would work if it really happened. I'd like to be prepared when Pfizer unwittingly brings about the zombie apocalypse. =)

I was watching a TV reality show and one of the guys on it converted a truck from a gasoline-burning vehicle to one that burned wood for it's fuel. It was not a steam engine either, but a regular gasoline-burning engine. He did some kind of conversion on it. I'm not sure how it worked, but it did

I've seen that show too. I've also read up a little on how it was done, but that was a while ago. There is something in the byproduct of the fumes of the burning wood.

Eustace is such an idiot, he had to have had someone else do this for him. If i remember correctly, he did something dumb and totaled that truck.

I'm pretty sure it was all for the show and they set it up. Way too coincidental to have the cameras set up for that.

I read a funny comment somewhat related to this. In this last episode, the "book" was met with awe and wonderment by Maggie. But in the apocalypse, while food and gas might be scarce, pretty sure the libraries with books will not be plundered.

So the whole Book of Eli thing with Georgie having all this knowledge in her head that she put down on paper is kind of funny.

OK, I'm not reading this thread to prevent spoilers. The wife and I have DVRed the episodes since the return from break but are having a hard time making the effort to watch them.

Without spoilers, is it worth it for us to catch up, or not?

I have to admit that it's sucking pretty hard this season but at this point I'm so invested in it, I have to watch. It's kind of like watching cyclones basketball this season except with the basketball team you have hope for the future. With Walking Dead, you know it's only going to get worse.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I wonder if there's any hope of them salvaging the series and finishing strong some day.

My son and I watch it together. We still enjoy it but we just basically make fun of the characters at this point.

I can relate to the "just die already Carl" comments because that's what we where saying during that episode.

We were discussing who'd have the tougher human resources department, the Saviors or the Hilltop.

I had to watch Sunday's episode again. At the end I figured I missed something. After second viewing nope, that ending came out of nowhere.

Stupid decisions running the show still.

And this whole 'biological warfare' arc, with weapons coated in zombie **** now causing people to turn is stupid when weapons have been covered in zombie guts since season 1 with little effect.

Not to mention, intentionally coating themselves in zombie muck, or getting covered in zombie blood while killing them.

That was actually from the comics, so the show pulled over that plot point.

1) They are some very heavy sleepers.
2) stupid kid.

This pretty much summed up the episode for me. I was floored that everyone was still sleeping through the zombie feeding and no victims shouted/screamed/banged into things to wake up others. That was a big writing mistake.
