In my mind I picture the situation like the scene from Snatch when Brick Top (Jeff) passes along bad info and then gets pissed off at people that give him crap for being wrong.

It's not so much that he was wrong, but how horribly wrong the info was and Jeff still saying it wasn't wrong. He's looked bad every step of the way. He's going to need to change his username again.
