VEISHEA!!!

This is a "family site", I don't believe that would be appropriate.

But I got plenty of them for only remembering half the week.

Post anything Veishea here. (crazy stories, concerts, etc.)

Let's Go!

When I lived in BWR during the 07 VEISHEA I had a pretty interesting event. I was in a friends room, and it was about 4AM. Most of us had gotten back from the nightly events of saturday night and there was a knock on the door. I was the closest person so I answered. There infront of me stood a guy completely naked holding a bag of unpopped popcorn in his hands, covering his crotch. When I open the door he says can i pop my popcorn in your room? I think he was drunk, because he was stone cold serious, and a little stumbly(i wouldn't have kept a straight face doing it.)
I said no and to GTFO of here, while my friends proceeded to die laughing. There was like 5 seconds of silence in the room, then we all went running out after him, and convinced him we had about 3 or 4 other friends who could use a late night wake up call to use their microwaves.

Hilarious night, and a great story. I had never seen the guy before and haven't since.

What year was it that VEISHA got out of hand when they had that bonfire in the middle of the street and all?

Anybody got any links, etc. from that embarrasment?

Speaking of out of hand, apparently there is a block party on Hunt street this year. Looks like 3,200 people have already RSVP'd via facebook. Could definately get out of hand.

I spent my 2 best years of college serving on VEISHEA Exec and probably one of the saddest days of my college career was during the Riots of 2004.

That isn't going to happen and if it does it isn't going to last long. That being said I will still show up in the event they follow through on the promised jello wrestling.

One of the bands last year came out wearing fake lion heads on top of their own heads. They then proceeded to sing about gem sweaters and other sorts of crafts. Weirdest show I've ever seen.

In '88 or '89, I went to the Battle of the Bands in the Scheman Courtyard with some friends. About 20' ahead of us, a guy starts punching another guy in the back of the head. Hard. Dude in front, instead of stepping forward and turning, turns his head to see who's wailing on him.
Took about 2 punches to the face before dropping like a rock.
What we couldn't figure out is how the hitter didn't break his hand. I've never tried, but have to think punching someone's cranium has to hurt. Might have been some booze involved there.

Whoa, please take caution folks before posting your Veishea stories here. This is not an *****Official****** thread. Your stories may not be taken seriously or may not turn out to be used for ****Official***** Veishea thread purposes.

My friend was near Campustown when the 2004 riot started. He knew someone that lived on Welch, so when the riots started they obviously sat on the lawn and watched. After the police came and started pepper spraying everything in sight this guy that was in the riots (although I don't know to what extent) came running up to them saying, "This is crazy right?" Up behind the guy a police officer comes up to the guy and just sprays the guy full in the face. They were probably 100 feet from where the riot was. The guy hit the ground and was moaning..."Dude, why did you do that, aaahhhh it's in my eyes."

When my friend told me the story the next morning he couldn't stop laughing. He said it was like watching a guy getting kicked in the junk. It was sad and so very funny.

2006 at a house party, I saw two guys dressed like Batman and Robin riding the same motorcycle. Quite funny. That's about all I have, I avoid large drunk crowds as much as possible

I have friends that live on the block of hunt st and the cops came and knocked on every single door to tell them that party will not happen. Expressed saftey concerns and what not. They also handed out a press release from the City of Ames.

I can't think of a single VEISHA story that I can say without consulting a lawyer first. With that being said, living in a house on Welch during VEISHA week was always a very, very good time.
