I don't get any excitement over beating UNI. The entire game consists of worrying about losing so my friends that go to UNI don't have anything to brag about. UNI is tough, but I don't get "abso-freakin-lutely" fired up about beating them.Joking about what exactly? ISU is 2-6 vs. UNI in the last eight meetings. That's an established fact.
The other part of it is certainly a matter of opinion, I'll admit. If some ISU fans never want to play UNI again in Ames, CF, or Des Moines they are certainly entitled to that opinion as well. My own point is that in recent times wins against an in-state rival, even a "mid-major" have been few and far between for ISU, so a win against them could be (and again, IMO should be) something to be excited about, certainly much more so than a 30-point victory against a overmatched HBCU team, for example.
