To me Lutz is in a whole diiferent class than Adler. If Free wants Adler, then I support it. While I have been one to complain about our defense, I don't think it has been our schemes that were the problem, rather than player attitude. Sorry, but how many times did we see certain players just take defensive pocessions off or get beat down the court because they were whining to the refs. That isn't X and Os, that it attitude and that begins with the head coach. If Bill Fennellys players got beat down the court because they were complaining to the refs they would ride the pine.

So about half the posters here think Sadler would be a bad hire. Some think he won't be a good hire because he is so damn good that he would get hired away as a head coach in only a year. The rest think that he's so bad that he'll add nothing to the current staff.
You know, Bill Self can't be trusted. Why would he pick somebody like Doc Sadler to be his Ops guy? Maybe Sadler wanted to be in the area. Or maybe Self was trying to keep somebody else from picking him up and recruiting in his backyard! Hmmmm. I like the feel of raiding KU's BB program.
And every poster thinks they know more than Fred. Pollard probably could have gotten a good deal on basketball and football coaches instead of shelling out for Rhoads and Hoiberg.

Yeah, and Drake really raided ISU MBB in hiring Rutter.
Given we lost both Otz and Rutter we are going to want a guy with experience scouting and sitting on the bench. Sadler replacing Rutter is great. Sadler replacing Otz is meh.
Would Nebraska still need to pay Sadler if he takes a job as an assistant coach? Looks like they were still paying him at Ku. I read elsewhere that the buyout at Nebraska was only until he got another job. Hopefully that means "head coaching job" because I wouldn't want ISU to help Nebbie in any way

I wonder if Sadler won't come to ISU until he hears back from Texas Tech. We could use him in recruiting TX a bit for us.
But why would he leave the Nebraska head coaching job to go to that dump of a town called Lubbock?
