Update on David Montgomery status

Fair enough

This is why you need large caliber weapons when hunting bears.

Small ones only piss them off.

DM is the bear in this scenario.

Was just going to say even if it were lifted, I wouldn't argue with CMC sitting him for a bit to start. Even captains can have learning moments.

I think even Fred Hoiberg was held out of the starting line up his senior year for being late to a meeting or something.

Check out this article from Des Moines Register:

Big 12 official says no additional punishments after Iowa State, Baylor on-field fracas

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...l-punishments-after-baylor-fracas/1974638002/

At least we avoided the Phoenix Suns scenario where they got punished 20x worse than the thug play that caused the incident, had a championship stolen, and the thugs won it all as their "punishment".

The fact that they treat it as a wash is a joke, but it's much better than other results I've seen in sports where the most guilty party can often be rewarded.

I'm glad we have a coach that gives classy, non-whiny responses to this kind of thing.

. . . unlike certain other B12 coaches . . .

I agree with others who said I'm somewhat surprised that the conference office didn't review video and hand out additional punishments. When I watched it live, I was expecting at least 4-5 Baylor guys to be ejected, and 1-2 other ISU guys.

I mean, the refs were throwing flags in lots of places, not just where DM was. Those had to be for something, right? You can clearly see at least one additional Baylor player throw a punch in the background of the video.

Edit: After re-watching, I think it's the same guy . . . #52 for Baylor hits Knipfel in the helmet even after they were separated.

Agree, CMC is classy. He is competitive, but he owns our flaws (i've never heard him say "we lost the game" as a way to slight an opponent)

I also know he was probably REAL fired up as the skirmish happened and after, but knows that his role now is to ensure the team can handle situations like this so it's not worse.

It'd be great if the Big 12 applied some common sense here but the odds of them overturning a first half suspension of our best player against Texas is nill.
Bowlsby will forgo common sense and will probably stick it to ISU somehow.

If that’s all Baylor got, then old school hockey rules for Saturday. LHN will broadcast its first Royal Rumble, ISU Scout team vs UTs starters.

Does anyone know how much he decided to fine us for how cold it was? I thought someone said it was 10K for every degree it dropped from kickoff to sweet caroline.

Well, rushing the field got us 1/80th the fine of institutional wide coverup of numerous rapes, so 10k sounds about right.

Baylor QB will not sit 1st half of TCU game according to what I read over at sicem365.

There is also one poster who seems upset that "muslim Butler" didn't get a suspension.

I don't mind that. He wasn't even on the field when the original incident happened. He got flagged for mouthing off, and that was enough for that.

And he shouldn't have to sit. The only reason DM and BU #52 have to sit is because they were ejected for fighting. If a player were to get 2 unsportsmanlike taunting penalties resulting in his ejection then he wouldn't have to sit the next game either.
