UPDATE: McDermott has not accepted CU offer yet

Not trying to be a Buzz Killingston, but this whole thing is likely going to be a mess in the short term.
With the state the basketball program was already in before the latest events, I'm okay with things getting worse before they get better.

can't see this happening....JP wants clean programs.

So you make the contract iron-clad that any slip up means your outta here with no compensation. Things like this can be negotiated around. Plus, if JP gives him a second chances, his act is cleaned up, and we succeed he looks like a genious.

And if you fail?

Could you imagine him with a nice glass of scotch swirling around his one ice cube, reading Cyclone Fanatic in his study via 1999's webTV?

:biglaugh:

I like Bud Light when I read CF. When I drink while on CF you are all my drinking buddies and that means I dont drink alone, thus I dont have a drinking problem.

If he fails with any of these coaches his nuts are on the line. The risk reward is better to reach for a name then to make another safe hire.

I don't know about that. If CPR is successful he will still have some wiggle room. IN the end, hiring coaches is a crapshoot.

I hope we stay away from Mid Majors. AKA Iowa hire. Yawn. This could be a great place for a top program's assistant to get a chance to jump into a situation that is open to dramatic change.
