UNC it is.

So was their 6 teams sitting around the country waiting on Skype?

I don't think so. There was some setup for that Skype video stuff. Hard to believe he'd make 6 coaches set that up and then just call one.

No, he was asked this by a reporter. He said that only Roy Williams was waiting for a call.

"Cyclone Power" is a standard Ames High "Little Cyclones" cheer. It wasn't an ISU cheer. It was followed by an AHS cheer!

So you were there then? You heard the cheers for just the ISU sign? I was sitting in front of a group of ISU students and they talked before hand about getting Cyclone Power going. The sea of red wasn't doing an AHS cheer.

It's simple. Drop ISU and a few schools off the list and invite the public. Or invite just the high school and friends. I'm sure ESPN had a hand in wanting a crowd there. But he didn't need to use ISU fans.

He didn't "use" ISU fans. 90% of the crowd was from Ames High. And they were the ones who showed the most class in cheering the good fortune of their friend even if he picked something other than the hometown school.

And if you dont drop ISU off the list, please dont do that ridiculous skype thing where roy freaking williams pops up on the big screen.

The rest of "us" is his hometown. He didn't invite ISU fans, he invited the entire community.

When your hometown is 50% ISU students with no ties to the city of Ames proper, and in total probably 90% ISU fans, it's a different story. If he lived in Des Moines or Sioux City or Marshalltown or Council Bluffs it's fine to invite the community because Iowa State University is not located there. Inviting the community, which he knew would be primarily Cyclone fans, was kind of a bad move. Otherwise, I don't really have that much of a problem with him going to UNC. I think we all knew he wasn't coming to ISU, but it still stings. Stop telling people it's not ok to be ****** off for a few hours. In a month if these threads are still popping up, then I'll be behind you. Otherwise, just give it a rest.

Just think guys, maybe he will get upset with playing time, decide to go into veterinary medicine and return to Ames next year.:jimlad:

You're wrong here. There were a LOT of people wearing red....two wearing Duke shirts...didn't see any North Carolina shirts surprisingly.

One thing for me that is an eye opener is, because I've never followed recruiting too much, all of the hours a coach dedicates to recruiting with the possiblity (and actually more often than not the probablility) that nothing will come out of it. I'd hate to spend that much time on a project knowing that in the end there was only a 20% chance of having anything to show for it. I think that would really get old for the coaches (all coaches, not just ISU coaches).

Yes, I was there. Yes, there was a cheer when they put up the ISU sign. Yes, the ISU minority was doing an ISU cheer at the same time, but 90% of the crowd was doing an AHS cheer. What did the ISU folks do right after the Cyclone Power cheer when they did the "A-H-S" cheer?

Further, the guys with no shirts wrote H-A-R-R-I-S-O-N on their chests, not I-S-U.

So he can't invite the community that shows up in droves to Ames High games because they also are ISU fans?

Yes it's true ISU fans showed class by either cheering or doing nothing when he announced UNC.

It is even worse for GM because they desert him after them come here!

The area where the guys with no shirts on was the students. It was not even close to 90% Ames High.

why should I be happy for him or support him? I could give a crap about the kid now that he isn't going to ISU. people being compassionate for cyclone athletics and our basketball program do not owe harrison barnes anything and are fully entitled to their opinions regarding him and how they interpret his handling of the recruiting process.

This. I hope Harrison either rides the bench at UNC or gets flat out owned on the court by other kids in the ACC. If he ends up playing pro ball I hope it is in some crap league in Pakistan. If anyone deserves it, it is Harrison "Chiz" Barnes.
