UConn -6.5 over ISU

I'm nervous for this game, I see it as a trap game as some others have mentioned in this thread. However knowing what Rhoads can do, I'm sure he will have us pumped.

Oh wow when asked if they had settled on a quarterback:

"Unfortunately, we have apparently settled on John McEntee. He is a small, slow, inaccurate quarterback with the arm strength of a 10 year old with muscular dystrophy.

Our wide receivers are just as bad. It's a shame, as UConn does have some quality players on it. ISU is a better team."

That had me laughing.

I'm very confident in the man, but I also remember Colorado last year. We were unimaginably flat for that game against a team that wasn't great (but talented), and then got destroyed.

I don't believe UConn has Colorado's firepower sitting around, but it's hard to be overconfident today. But not on Friday, or even Thursday.

Probably the only time all year (well, maybe not the Kansas game) that it's the opposing team's fans saying that rather than us.

"Re: POLL: Iowa State @ UCONN Reply
i dont think Jantz is as good as Persa, Denard, or Taylor Martinez (all of which iowa plays). They all have the same run ability, but Jantz isnt even close to the arm ability of these 3. This raises concern cause we made Jantz look like Michael Vick."

Really? Tmart? He can run but what else?

look at the username. Its really odd there are more hawks posting in that thread about an ISU road game than there are clones.

But we're the ones obsessed about them.

Connecticut Huskies vs. Vanderbilt Commodores - Video - September 10, 2011 - ESPN

A bunch of highlights from the Vandy game. Not that impressive.

After watching the highlights it looks like the OL will need to eat their Wheaties Fri. Uconn's D had success putting pressure on the QB. A lot of sacks and TO's due to the pressure. OL will have to be careful because they show blitz from different positions but then drop them into coverage so the OL won't know who is rushing. The DL looks quick like UNI's.

Line has moved to -4.5 at most places. Must be a lot of people who think that spread was to big.

Let's just remember our experience against UNI and then last Saturday and remember how quickly a team's performance can turn around or change, particularly this early in the season while everybody is still trying to find themselves and trying out new players. Nobody has much of a sample size to work off of, for ISU or UConn, or much context with which to compare our past opponents.

That being said, beat the Huskies!

This is not the conference champions UConn Huskies of a year ago. This is a bottom feeding Big East team. There is no reason why we shouldn't come away with a win from this one.

Qb play is horrible at best and their best player is a redshirt running back. ISU easy if we don't have redzone turnovers.
