UConn -6.5 over ISU

This.

Road game on short rest. Potential for huge let down game after our rivalry game. And its sandwiches between two of our biggest games Iowa, and Texas.

I hope were ready, but this has TRAP written all over it.

There is a bye week after the UCONN game, CPR can go emotionally all in on Friday night and not worry about it. I'd bet a lot ISU wins outright, by double digits.

I'll put a bunch in again on UConn when we get a CyBookie. My little simulation has a larger line favoring UConn in this game than it did Iowa. Their offense is statistically the weakest of our three non-confs, but their defense is by far the strongest. I wouldn't be surprised to see a loss... but I've said this a LOT during the Rhoads era, and each and every time I've been (gratefully!) proven wrong. Go Clones!

Consolation credits. I lost 30 million credits betting on iowa, figuring if we won i wouldnt care too much about losing those credits, and if we lost i'd at least get some credits probably.

Though I wouldnt be opposed to a credit stimulus again, just so i can lose some more credits betting against us.

I agree. If ISU gets caught looking ahead to a game 2 weeks ahead, then they shouldn't be playing college football.

this seems like a trap game to me...
hopefully i'm wrong.

their fans might not be fired up, but after an embarrassing loss, I bet those players come out fired up.. not wanting to be embarrassed on national tv at home being one reason. That combined with any kind of let down from us, this could be a tough one.. I bet we get their best shot

Our kids don't seem like the ones that will have an emotional letdown. There was a certain confidence with our offense the entire Iowa game. You just had the feeling that we could move the ball consistently, and I don't think it had to do with Iowa having a soft defense.
We have quite a few weapons on offense and our defense is good and only going to get better if we can stay healthy. I'm not generally bold with my predictions, but I'm thinking ISU takes control of this game. I bet our guys come out very focused.

2011 Connecticut Football Ranking Summary

Looks like they are very stout on Defense. Ranked 10th in total D and 22nd in scoring D. Also they're HC is a former NFL Defensive coach. On offense they seem to be a running team. Don't know if that is by design or necessity since their passing O is ranked 97th.

I forsee this being a grind it out game for us. They will want to limit our possesions so they will try to ram it down our throats with the run and use up the clock with a mix of play action pass. Sound familiar?

I'm more concerned with our penchant to TO the ball and costly penalties. If this is a clock chewing game then those mistakes can make it close and as we seen with UNI give a team enough chances they'll capitalize on them.

I feel if we clean it up we'll win but it won't be easy. I posted here already I'm absolutely terrified that we'll come out flat like we did for UNI due to it being a short week, on the road, and coming off an emotional and physically draining game.

I have a very hard time believing the UConn defense is better than Iowa's. And their defensive coordinator is certainly not as good as norm parker.

I think their D is good for the Big East but not up to big 10 or big 12 standards but we shall see I guess.
