UCF Declares Itself National Champion

The idea that they consciously kept UCF low enough to not be a problem is the issue here. We see it with p5 teams not just the UCF's of the world. There is always a deliberate effort to keep b1g and SEC teams ranked high enough to justify moving them in when its convenient. They know people will only focus on the top 4 so they can do whatever they like from 8-15 or so, they take advantage of this and use it to manipulate which teams are in position to move in when a top 4 team loses.

Yep. Why do you think Iowa snuck into the top twenty five the week they played Wisconsin?

Isn't this how Iowa claimed their national title in the 1950's???? I know Alabama did this with a lot of theirs.

Why not. I'd vote UCF #1. Screw the four team playoff. It's a joke anyway.
Pretty sure they were claiming the Better Homes and Gardens National Champion title.

How soon does Nebraska claim the 2017 championship?

How soon does Nebraska claim the 2017 championship?

Because Scott Frost lead UCF to the national championship that UCF is claiming. Similarly to how the B1G claims Nebraska's national titles. They meant it mostly sarcastically except for the really crazy Nebby fans.

Minnesota claimed a bunch of Nation nap titles a few years ago. Some of them they declare in the 1980’s. Like they looked back on their history and decided that since they went 6-0 in 1920 they deserved a national title. Now they claim it. Much like Iowa’s in the 1950’s.

Hey, I like these all SEC championship games. It's saving me hours of viewing time so I can do something worthwhile. :jimlad:

UCF doesn't pass the eye test so how can they be in the playoff or eligible for the title? Some group of people with an agenda didn't think they were good enough to play in the playoff and due to the ever changing criteria of what you need to do to make the playoff they really had no chance.

Bowlsby is an idiot. He says UCF did not get screwed because they'd have lost with a tougher schedule. Stupid stupid stupid. If he had an ounce of common sense he'd be lobbying for expansion. When any Big 12 teams get snubbed, people could make hypothetical predictions about them too.
