Tyrese Hunter PG '21 - Committed!

If it’s TJ, I would hope it’s known he keeps Hunter.

We’re not hiring TJ for his superior coaching.
If it is Otz, yes he may have a better rep as recruiter around here, because in the past he brought some good guys in and he was 'just' an assistant. But now hopefully we are hiring him because he can and will be a great coach also. He is still young and learning his craft. That doesn't mean he won't be a great coach.

Don't like how you worded that, sorry. Let's give him a chance. If he recruits well and turns into a good to great coach, all the better!

Some of us fans who have been critical of the hire just want our Cyclones to succeed. We will support Otz and his recruits.

If Prohm sticks with it, he will get there. I hope he takes time to reflect on what worked here and what didn't and goes on to have a successful coaching career. Too often the good guys give up because it too hard to compete with the bs. I think Prohm has the opportunity to be a very successful mid major coach and could get back to high major if he stops giving his players such long leashes.
Case in point. I hope Steve looks at Bryce Drew, very similar situation. Bryce did great at Valpo, tanked at Vandy (also went 0-18 in conference his last year there. Now he is lighting it up again at Grand Canyon U.

I think Steve will want to coach again, and soon. I believe he will be successful again. He just needs to find the right fit.

Didn't he leave them (and us fans) to go be an asst at Washington as he pursued his dream of stepping up to be a head coach? You know, the same argument people use against hoiberg?

If I remember correctly he also came back immediately after Hoiberg left to be with the guys. Then stayed on CSP staff for the first year after CSP was picked over him for the job.

Isn't that mostly because the coach at Washington was terrible?

He came back before Fred left to be in a position to take over the program. That’s how this should have all been handled.
