not that it matters, but i am glad that it appears to be accidental. however there was a bunch of projecting being done on social media and its unfortunate that so many assuming it was suicide.
You know I was very proud of the way ISU and fans handled all of this. It was pretty sad to hear some of the Iowa fans talk about Stevie Hicks when he took his life. I am glad to see we were better than that.
Let's not get into a ******* contest about how well each fanbase handles deaths online. Remember, there were a couple pages of posts in this thread that got deleted.

It's not lame. I'm well versed in drug abuse. You might not be trying to die if you mix those two ingredients but you sure as **** don't care if you live or die. I have a problem with the "accidental" tag. You knowingly put two different powerful opiates in your body at the same time that's no accident hence my M & M comments. By saying "accidental" it is implying that he thought he was taking something else or the bottles or bags were mixed up and I don't believe that to be the case.
methadone is an opioid analgesic used to treat chronic pain. you listened to too much kid rock growing up.

Maybe lead with the logical explanation of your opinion instead of being a smart *** next time. Now that you spelled it out in a respectful way, I agree with you for the most part so not looking for an argument by any means.
You have no idea if he took "knowingly".
Potential events: The guy had chronic pain that keeps getting worse from NFL injuries so he was on a chronic pain killer. Gets a new prescription to help deal with the increasing pain. He takes one type of pill that makes him cloudy after awhile. While his mind isn't clear, he doesn't remember if he's taken a dose already, or how long he is supposed to wait, he takes the wrong pill and then it is over like that. If the events happened like this, then the proper barriers weren't in place to prevent an accident but this is also entirely plausible but doesn't qualify as "knowingly" taking both drugs.
You have some nerve to make assumptions and speak poorly of him without really knowing what happens. I don't know what happened either but one of us stayed classy in our ignorance. One of us did not.
I would respond to this but my other post on this subject was already moderated out of the thread so I'm not going to bother.
I'll just say the lack of knowledge and or experience in drug use, drug addiction, and drug culture is severely lacking here.
Accidental only means he wasn't trying to kill himself. People die of accidental ODs all the time. Doesn't mean they didn't take the drugs on purpose.
