Haven't seen this posted yet, but appears he passed way too soon today.

Hard guy to like as an ISU fan, but tough not to respect as a ball player.

When my brother was going through recruiting, we went to a game at Kinnick and sat near Tyler and his folks. That is the only close connection I have to him. I do, however, remember him putting his body on the line each and every play when he played at Iowa.

Yikes, he must have had some serious pain. Sad. Condolences to the family and fans.

I know his shoulder was messed up even in college, which was one of the reasons he went pro early even though he wasn't predicted to be anything more than a late round pick.

This is why I don't take any sort of sleeping pills or the "good stuff" pain medication. Just seems like you're always hearing about someone taking too many and dying and that doesn't seem worth it to me.

My wife is a pharmacist and she said you wouldn't believe how many people are on pain meds and likely don't know how to properly use them. I just hope this wasn't intentional. I absolutely hate hearing about people taking their own lives.

I grew up in Oskaloosa and went to HS with Tyler. From what I knew of him he was always respectful and a nice guy. He always made this week difficult for me as I wanted my home town boy to do well, yet wanted ISU to win. Terrible news for the state of Iowa, The University of Iowa, and Oskaloosa. Please keep all in thoughts and prayers. :/
