From what I've heard, Douglas has already been in Ferentz's dog house because he had some academic issues in the spring semester or summer. He supposedly had those cleaned up, but I imagine that if this credit card thing is true it will be strikes 2 and 3. I'll be very suprised to see Douglas in a Hawkeye uniform ever again. Pretty serious stuff he got himself into. I hate to see a kid throw away an opportunity like this, even if he is a Hawk. Sad deal.

Definitely not a good time to be a Hawkeye. They'll still be decent, but very green on offense and thin at a lot of positions on defense. I'm betting most of their fans are glad they're not playing the big 2 this year in conference. Those games would be ugly, especially if it was early in the year. Ferentz will definitley need to earn his money this year.

I agree. And the sooner KF does that the quicker his team can move on and prepare to play football without them.

Something tells me those players will only get a few games, but should get kicked off. Even if they do get kicked off....
They Really only have a couple tough games. I think They will dodge a huge bullet by having this schedule b/c if it was like last years they might only win 4-5 games IMO. This year they will probably rattle off 7-9 wins.

how good was Bowman? I can't remember this guy for some reason. I know Losing Douglas would be like us losing Todd Blythe. They still will have a great running game, but now people will just key in on Brodell and stack the box.

I am not rejoicing more making a statement of how much Zabel drove me nuts, when anything even remotley positive happened he brought that stupid phrase out!

In fact, I said to one my partners here in our firm..."what, maybe 90 days until we get something like this?"-I realize we are dealing with 100+ kids so the odds are pretty decent that stupid stuff will happen.

Agreed. If this is true (and it sounds like the police have been investigating this for awhile), this is felony fraud...not an underage drinking violation or a public intox or even a DUI. Serious, serious charges.

You know every time this happens at Iowa or ISU, I always wonder what the heck are these kids thinking? They've got their schooling payed for and tons of opportunity ahead of them and they pull some stupid stuff like this.
