Tulsa as 2 point favorite........

We average 6 wins a year under CPR and are favored to win about 3 times a year at best.

Time to bet $10,000 on every single game and donate the proceeds to blow by Ohio State, LSU, etc... EASY MONEY.

Cycotic^Based on what? They lose their star QB for one and replace him with Cody Green. No way they are ranked.
Idk just was in some thread, I can try and dig it up if you want. Don't they have like 8 returning on offense and 9 on d or something?

I wasn't worried about this game until I saw this thread just now with the spread.

I find it hard to believe Tulsa comes in and beats us. I'd be worried if we had a QB with no experience but we know whether it's Barnett or Jantz that the QB spot won't completely suck. The two headed monster at QB did manage 6 wins last year playing a tough schedule. They aren't helpless, they just need to improve. Going into last year I was concerned because Jantz was unknown and Tiller had only been decent a couple times to that point.

Fairly insulting to be a home dog to Tulsa on opening day. This will provide motivation IMO. It would **** me off as a player, I tell you that.

Hopefully the players and coaches use this as bulletin board material and huge motivation to work their hardest to prove the odds makers wrong. Go Cyclones!

Tulsa has been a solid team for the last 5 years (44 wins). The return a good amount of players. The question will be the QB position. I expected the line to be close but figured it would be ISU favored.

Wait a minute....all you from the Sunshine and Rainbow Coalition said we need to trust that the recruits the messiah (who won 3 conference games last year) would lead us in the right direction.......and we're not even favored....at HOME...vs a MID-MAJOR??

As an unnofical spokesman for the SRC, you can go "love" yourself.

I kno Tulsa has a bunch returning and were a good team. That was last year.

How am I supposed to believe that Cody Green can throw the ball around in Ames against a pretty good ISU secondary after sitting for a year?
He couldn't against us two years ago with what I assume was a better offensive line.

With his history, he might throw the ball around to a pretty good ISU secondary.

Is Tulsa a good team? Yes. A good team in C-USA games. Since 2002 Tulsa is an impressive 1-16 against BCS conference opponents. 1 win against BCS conference teams in the last decade and people on this board are wetting the bed at night worrying about this game?

Sack up folks! Iowa State is in the Big XII.... a big boy league. Iowa State is playing competitive games with teams of a much higher caliber then the likes of Tulsa. It isn't a guaranteed win but no wins are ever guaranteed. Iowa State is going to have to earn it on the field and the odds are heavily in favor of them doing so.

We pretty much stink in opening games

UNI last year, could have/should have lost
Up 17-10 on NIU in the 4th before pulling away. Scary game though
Close game going into the 4th against NDSU
Played like garbage but thanks to 5 TO's we beat a bad SDSU team
Lost to Kent State
Needed OT and Blythe going beast mode to beat Toledo
Tied at half against Illinois State and only won by 11

I don't know if any of those teams are/were as good as Tulsa. Good thing we are better too.

That NIU team was better on paper than this Tulsa team.

Rhoads has never lost to a non-BCS school. The day will come, but it won't be here.

ISU always struggles in the opening game. UNI had that game won last season. I think ISU wins, but it won't be decided until late in the 4th.
