Tristan Nickelson - New Commit

One thing I will give the staff credit for is there will be a number of scholarship lineman next year (whether that's quality depth we will see) but we will have Lalk, Burton, Dagel, Campos, Omoile, Taiese, and Dunning who have all played, then younger guys who are still developing who already redshirted (Homa, Severs, Glenn, Williams, Curtis) and some coming off of redshirts (Anderson, Windham, Kodanko) and throw in Nickelsen and the options are definitely there.

Hudl has videos of Nickelson but you have to pay to view them.

I would not be surprised to see Lalk playing center next year.

I'd be surprised if he didn't play center next year. He's the one that moves over there when Farniok is out. I could see the starting lineup being...

LT- Campos, Dagel or Nickelson
LG- Omoile (sp?) or Taisee (sorry, I am butchering these spellings)
C- Lalk
RG- Burton
RT- Campos or Nickelson

Plus we will have Dunning as an experienced backup. I could see him being the utility guy that can play any of the guard or tackle spots. And then we have some young talent that will hopefully develop into good reserves and potential future starters... Cole Anderson, Shawn Curtis, Ryan Glenn, Will Windham, Kodanko, Homa, Nick Severs etc. I had heard at one point that the coaches were going to be getting Severs ready to be the future starter at center. Anyone else hear that?

Not surprised on the Nickelson development. After watching this dumpster-fire the past 2 weeks, I wouldn't be surprised by any more defections in the coming weeks. Also, some have listed the supposed depth at OL for next year. It would seem that we have great depth - even if we exclude Tristan. However, remember the past few years we ALWAYS have 3-5 major injuries at that position. So you might as well pencil in those inexperienced RS Frosh and inexperienced JUCOs to take up the majority of minutes next year. And, again, we won't be able to run the ball or give our QB much time to stay in the pocket and throw downfield. Then we will be saying the same things for the next year after that - rinse & repeat.
