Trent is an incredibly good dude that just can't see the world in anything other than black and gold going back 15 year to when he had a show in Cedar Falls. He tried to be balanced but he just can't do it.

Do yourself a favor and unfollow/mute/change the station. I've honestly only seen a couple dumbasses show up on my timelines. This situation is about ISU, not the mouthbreathers in that fanbase.
Iowa needs to learn THEIR place. The idea that they are above ISU in any significant or meaningful way is such a delusional starting point. Enrollment, location, academics, alumni base, recruiting, facilities, coaching? All the built-in profile factors for an institution and athletic program are a wash at best/worst and it's really not hard to make an argument ISU has done more with what we both have been given and positioned ourselves better to succeed going forward. Why exactly should we just fold and give up? Because we got in bed with Texas? Spare me.

I used to listen to that show, but now only tune in on Wednesdays when they have David Kaplan on for Chicago sports stuff.
This. So much this. The economic impact on central Iowa of ISU athletics being relegated to a lesser conference could be huge. My company has worked on several projects with the University recently, and many of them are athletics related. I'm working on one right now that is essentially an appeal to high dollar donors to keep spending their money with the school. ISU drops to a non-P5 level and that starts going away. But hey, at least Hok fans can hold their BIG superiority over our heads when people start losing jobs.
Not going to repost what I shared in the other thread, this is very true. They are delusional beyond belief. The last full season, 2019, ISU was 21st in attendance, Iowa was 20th. Last year ISU had better TV viewership per game, even if you remove the Fiesta Bowl and Big 12 Ccg.
Despite their delusion and feelings about their brand, Iowa and ISU are about as close to one another as two teams can be. AD budget is a function of OSU and Michigan.
They can either accept that or keep using 2010 facts.
