Transfer? U Bet Your A**!

literally the only people that have a problem with the transfers is Iowa fans, and their "problem" with it all stems from a very sad butthurty jealous place.....

Actually it's more than just hawk fans. I wouldn't say they have a problem with it, but many of the ESPN talking heads always mention the tranfer thing, and even refer to Fred as Fr. Flannigan. These same guys also know that hundreds of kids transfer every year so it is not that big of deal. The only reason it seems novel at ISU, is that Fred turns all of these guys into winners.

You act like that's a bad thing? There are much worse people to be compared to than Flanagan. But I still have never heard that comparison, I don't watch a whole lot of ESPN either though.

I think most coaches in the country are trying to emulate Hoiberg. The problem, they are not Hoiberg. He took a chance and it worked, now he has a reputation for developing players. If I was a top available transfer, I'd look to Hoiball first. I see two types of schools succeeding, the Kentucky's who can load up with 10 McDonald's All Americans, and the schools that can build with a mix of 4 year players and key transfers. Fred is a master at the later.

The negative stigma is what I want to go away.

There is no negative stigma. Have you heard the ESPN guys drool all over Hoiberg's ability to bring them in, coach them, improve them, and win with them? National media loves the Transfer U thing we have going on here. The only ones who don't are Hawkeye fans, and they only hate it because we are winning with it. If TCU was winning as Transfer U they would either love it or not care. If it really bothers you then you could kindly say that almost every single one of our transfers would have either started or have been the star player on Iowa.

You are correct. I have previously admitted that I let Hawk fan stupidity get to me at times. Everything you just said is correct.

Embrace the term "Transfer U" wear it as a badge of honor look at the production of these players compared to where they came from i.e. Kane, BDJ, Royce. Think it might have something to do with CFH and his system? Arizona and Michigan State notably are competing with us for transfers now. Hok fans spewing "Transfer U" like it's some sort of put down need to check the score of Friday nights beat down - I mean really? Brent Musbergers comment calling CFH "The Father Flanagan of college basketball" was the best line all year!

Anyone who thinks what Iowa State is doing is wrong or a bad thing is a complete idiot.

Unless they are talking about the football program.

Even though it didn't reflect on in the win column, D'vario Montgomery had a pretty good season and he was recruited the wrong way.

In a BB world of one-and-dones, Hoiberg has found a way to be the best ... with spacing and mismatches in recruiting transfers.

Sorry guys, I actually enjoy writing and wanted to share something I had written with my fellow Cyclones. Sorry it doesn't meet the approval of 3 people who combined to muster up 7 words as replies. Thanks for reading though.
Sorry, when I saw "U Bet Your A**!" it just reminds me of that stupid "U of A!" chant that Arizona fans do. So dumb.

Yeah, Naz seems to enjoy the multitude of nicknames fans have given him, but I'm pretty sure that CySmurf's addition of Nazi is one he won't be nearly as enthusiastic about.

I thought Nazi Long played with Clanton and the other carnations of McKay on Frank Hoiborg's team.
