Today's Weather

Does anyone know how the roads are in Ames right now? I'm trying to decide if I should drive to the commuter lot or walk 1/3 of a mile through the snow to a bus stop.

Snow started right after I got inside, so no experience with it today.

I know that a student fell outside of Ross Hall and was taken away in an ambulance with a compound leg fracture.
It's worth thinking this one over.

3" in Des Moines right now. Snow has stopped on the south side.

Storm sliding back NW some pushed heavier snow back to Des Moines before the sun really got going...temps around 29 or 30 allowed it to pile up.

Up to 31 degrees now, we'll see if it ever snows hard enough to keep pace with melting the rest of the way, I doubt it will.

I feel like we can most efficiently use our resources by focusing on one set of meltdown threads at a time. Lets keep the focus on the damn Jayhawks......:wideeyed:

This is a message board. When it comes to melting down, you could say we have a 'high motor'.

I hate Winter Storm Rocky and I hate the Kansas Jayhawks, nightmare continues today with this freaked snowstorm that moved north into Ames!!! When will it end?

Ok, this is all making sense now. Starting with about 2 minutes left in the game last night everything just is backwards. Obvious calls are no calls and weather systems move from east to west. Got it.

I don't think the local forecasters predicted it, but it was on Weather.com yesterday.

So last week's storm didn't materialize the way many predicted, and this week's storm is dumping more than predicted? Sounds about right.

Well, according to one poster here (forget his username), we almost ALWAYS get less snow than forecasted. I bet he's ******** a brick this morning...

I consider the storm a foul by Ejim.

If this storm were like a foul on Ejim, it would be a cloud passing over Minnesota, but being blamed for the snow down in Oklahoma. I've never uttered the words "What? Where?" as many times as I have when the whistle is blown on Ejim.

Story County has just been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, with 5-9 inches and blowing snow. Unfortunately, the weather guys can not blame this on last night's officials.
Is everybody in a position of professionalism becoming an incompetent? This country is falling apart. This is Bill Self's fault. He stayed overnight. This is Tom Tom the Designated Ref. He stayed overnight. Get them out of town now.

So this storm is more like a foul by Withey where we are getting clobbered and nothing is called by the officials until it is too late and doesn't really matter anymore?

We have a lot of moisture:yes: content to work out after last night. We were jobbed by a bunch of peter principles.

Winter Storm Q- A storm that was suppose to be big in Des Moines and got less then predicted.

Winter Storm Rocky- A storm that was suppose to stay south or the heavy stuff anyways and now its going to snow more then predicted!!!

At least we didn't have a week of hype this time.
