To ISU Fans...

I gotta say, I'm going to miss playing NU...we have a good number of friends over there we enjoy visiting every other year. No more sidetracks bar for me I guess. :(

Maybe I'm in the minority but I honestly don't blame Nebraska. The root cause of the problem is insane amounts of money at stake in "amateur" sports that are loosely associated with our universities.

For **** sake...

No ill will to the OP from me. The situation sucks, and I'm just as ****** as everyone else, but he didn't pull the proverbial trigger.

This. The only thing this guy is guilty of is being a Nebraska fan attempting to be diplomatic at the worst possible time.

You guys are right, this husker isn't being condescending at all!

Some of you may still hate the Huskers and thats ok, becasue it's out of respect and I know this.

:jimlad:

Actually he has singlehandedly, with one smug little sentence, reinforced why although I merely hated nebraska before, I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE them now!

I am a Nebraska Fan , I must say if the Big XII goes away I will miss the banter between us. I sit in Sec 22 row 8 seat 1 which is across the isle from the visiting section. The Clone's fans always made the game honest and always enjoyed chatting with you, and I have shared many of golden hops with you folks before and after games. If this plays out, I wish ISU all the best. I pulled up youtube today to watch some of those great moments over the past few days. I also pulled up clips of NU's darkest days of recent during Billy C's days at NU.

So to you ISU and ISU fans I know we have all had out ups downs and good and bad times together, but I never have not respected ISU or your fans, so this is my message to you. Good luck to you this year, and I hope the best for your program and fans. I hope to make it to Ames this year should this be the last game.

Thanks for all the memories for the past few years sitting across from you folks, you as fans are some of the most respectful people as fans I ever met.

Again good luck.

I'm sorry, you lost me at "I'm a Nebraska fan". And thanks for the most respectful fan comment...really means a lot. That's why we bring close to 30,000+ to Bowl games.

Just food for thought for you and your Husker fans. Especially after the Clones came into Lincoln and beat you last year with a backup QB and RB.

You and your Husker fans get ****** when you win 7 games, while in the Big 12. Imagine a scenario where you play a schedule like Iowa played a few years ago (or even recently). At Penn State. At Ohio State. At Michigan. Wisconsin at home. 7 wins in the Big 12 will seem like a dream at that point.

Thanks Nebraska, for ruining the Big 12 to make what, a couple more million a year by joining the Big 10... money isn't everything. May you lose every game

No hatred for the Huskers here. You'll get some hate from those who didn't see the writing on the wall more than a month ago, and think that ISU wouldn't have bolted if we were given the chance. In all honesty, most of those hating on you are probably the one's who expected Nebraska results on ISU's budget.

Good luck in the Big #.

Now everybody will always view Nebraska as quitters....whining about Texas controlling the big XII....how about putting together a plan to beat Texas and the schools from the south to shift the power up north instead of just leaving.....waaa waaa...babies.....very short sighted.

Here is an article on the Big XII by laws, should the conf go down the remaining 4 schools would be sitting on a Gold Mine of money. I'm not sure TX wants to give up all this money with king pin USC under sanctions for the Pac 10. Which does not help TX, and The Ducks loosing a lot of their star players wont be as good as everyone had thought either. So take time and read the bylaws.

Could the possible Big 12 implosion result in a windfall for the remaining teams?

This has been discussed before, but... As the Big-XII by-laws are silent regarding dissolution, Delaware Law, which is where the Big-XII is incorporated, rules. As Delaware Law only requires a simple majority (rather than a 9-member "super" majority) the departure of 7 teams (which is what we're facing) would result in the Big-XII simply ceasing to exist. No payoff.

I'm not a lawyer and I have not read the by-laws. My source is numerous KC sports radio talk shows over the last two days who claim they have been in contact with sufficient legal sources to confirm this is the case. It certainly could be incorrect but I do not believe so.

I'm shocked that Nebraska, who has been part of this conference along with ISU for decades... (or since it all started?) would forget tradition and join the Little 10? Outside of football, Nebraska isn't exactly a powerhouse unless they're Big 12 ping pong champs or something...

wow, no offense but you guys act like you wouldnt do the same thing if you were in our shoes. get of your high horses and get a little more realistic.

Bad troll is bad. Take your terrible profile pictures and troll on away.

Interesting info from a TX A&M post.

Now you get to see how mighty the tsip fans act. They belong in the Pac10. A&M would love to break off from them, but the politics in TX suck. Most A&M fans would prefer a more conservative SEC, while tu fans would prefer the more liberal PAC10. Problem is that it's tsip backers that want to keep A&M under control, so A&M can't offer recruits a different conference from them. Everyone also knows that tu setup NU to look like a scapegoat for being the reason the B12 is breaking up, so they don't look bad. tu wanted their own tv network and could only get that in the B12 and did everything they could to manipulate other schools (the time limit...) for a quick answer and force them to stay or they could chase $$$ elsewhere if their network didn't workout due to the weakening of the B12 and at the same time make it look like it was someone (NU) elses fault. By the way, Austin is the number one city for gay men to find a husband. Google it and you will find a link, but yet they try to talk about the more conservative school to try to hide their dirty little secret.
