Anyone know a good place in/near Ankeny to get a set of tires for a Ford Taurus? I called Big O, Graham, and Tires plus and they all seem to have high prices.

Thanks in advance.

Ford dealerships are offering a $100 rebate when you buy 4 tires. I got 4 for my Fusion when they offered this back in November, and it priced out, with the rebate, to be cheaper then most other places.

If you're not set on buying from a physical store, I'd suggest tirerack.com. The tires I bought for my Civic were nearly 1/2 the cost of what the Goodyear outlet in Ames wanted to charge.

Tires+ in Ankeny

Son works there, just decided to go to ISU.

Got accepted this week, he was excited!

Just called Wal-Mart....they are a couple hundred cheaper so far.

Cool. They have cheap prices. I take it you have to install them yourself?

Yeah. Tirerack does have some sort of affiliate program (not sure what they call it), where the tires can be shipped directly to a store for installation. I chose to have the tires shipped to my home and then I took them to Wal-Mart to get mounted.

Not sure how they are with tires, but my G/F's mom got her oil changed there and they "forgot" to put oil back in after draining it, and she had to get her engine replace. After telling my dad this, who manages a parts department in Dubuque, he said he sells at least half his engines each year to Wal-mart for this exact reason.

Have a slow leak in one of my tires and am trying to figure out a place in Ankeny or Ames that won't screw me over... Suggestions for places?

My experience was OK, but when I was back the next morning (picked up a nail, so not Wal-Mart's fault, but since I had just gotten the tires mounted the night before I suspected them) there was another guy there who wasn't too happy with how they mounted his tires. So my anecdotal evidence is 50:50.

A slow leak in your tires is a $20 fix, I would take it to any tire place. Well unless it is a puncture in the sidewall, then you need a new tire.

So I will ask another question. Anyone have any place in Ankeny that they had mount tires? I will just go to tire rack and get new tires, but not sure where to mount them.

I have always ordered from Tire Rack and then taken them to Big O in Ankeny to install. However, last time I just had them shipped directly to Big O.

JUST BOUGHT A SET OF GOODYEAR TIRES FOR MY WIFE'S CAMRY AT GRAHAM. IF YOU GET A SET OF GOODYEAR'S THERE IS A $80 REBATE. IF YOU APPLY FOR A GOODYEAR CARD AND USE IT YOU GET A $160 REBATE. WORTH CHECKING OUT.

I know its not in Ankeny but Eastern Iowa Tire has always been great for me. It's just off of Euclid on Dixion by Alter
