That parts true though..Right, my bad, you didn't say that. Just that they think she's a whiny, overly dramatic baby.

I'm not sure how many kids still follow Georges, so I'm not sure how much of a role model he is anymore. He's certainly no where near the volume of kids looking up to CC. But yes, this is the troubling trend. I guess you also don't have any issues of parents berating officials too, right? Our beloved Georges Niang is 13th in the NBA in technical fouls with 7 this year. I'm assuming we are out on him as a role model too? All these boys looking up to Georges wont know how to treat officials.
Or how to act in their office 15 years from now.Our beloved Georges Niang is 13th in the NBA in technical fouls with 7 this year. I'm assuming we are out on him as a role model too? All these boys looking up to Georges wont know how to treat officials.

Yet his technicals over the course of his career is pretty minimalI'm not sure how many kids still follow Georges, so I'm not sure how much of a role model he is anymore. It's all part of the same underlining issue: kids having bad role modelsWait are we saying parents yelling at officials is a new CC related trend too?
So has Caitlin Clark’sYet his technicals over the course of his career is pretty minimal
This discussion is goofy AF. CC has made an imprint on female bb, like no other. Not debatable.
Imagine this discussion, if she'd signed on for BF.
Wouldn’t you agree that’s more on the parents than the fault of any athlete playing a game? It's all part of the same underlining issue: kids having bad role models

Sure - a parent has to explain to their kid that they shouldn't act the way their favorite player is behaving. Of course, if the player didn't act childish, the parent could instead use the player to reinforce the characteristics they want their child to haveWouldn’t you agree that’s more on the parents than the fault of any athlete playing a game?
The border is just an extension of the CC effect. People from Ecuador pulling up stakes just to get closer to greatnessSo... I hate to break it to you. Parents yelling at officials is not some new phenomenon. That's been going on since well before CC was ever born. I'm 36 years old and I can remember watching parents get booted from high school games when I played.
If this thread goes on long enough we may see you linking CC the border crisis or something.
Yet his technicals over the course of his career is pretty minimal
But CC and some other star players are making some kids question some of the values parents are trying to entrench
And many of us feel the same way about those, too.Ok fine. So you don't like how she plays basketball. Maybe you then don't want your kids to emulate her on the court. But you have to admit that's a far cry from saying "she's a horrible role model for girls". That's just an absurd thing to say about someone based on how she plays basketball. Again, she's been charitable with her time and money, she's never been in legal trouble, she's great in interviews, etc. No reason she can't be a positive role model for a young girl.
If are worried about your kids picking up a "whining at the refs" habit, you better keep them away from all televised basketball. Because I have news for you, it happens in every level, for every gender in every game.
How many did he have in college?CC has 5 career technical, while Georges has 7 this year.
He is probably getting them for blowing kisses to the crowd . . . . . not complaining to officials. Our beloved Georges Niang is 13th in the NBA in technical fouls with 7 this year. I never said it was new. But such actions are becoming more and more common. I never said CC was the first star athlete to act childish. So I guess by your comments you either participate in yelling at officials at a second grade baseball game or your don't condone it. Just my assumption I am making, which for all of our sakes I hope is wrongSo... I hate to break it to you. Parents yelling at officials is not some new phenomenon. Guess I'm the only one looking at the big picture. Oh well. At least my kid won't grow up to be like CC
CC... the destroyer of families everywhere.Sure - a parent has to explain to their kid that they shouldn't act the way their favorite player is behaving. Parents will always be their kids' biggest role model. But kids have other role models. These role models can simply reinforce these values. But CC and some other star players are making some kids question some of the values parents are trying to entrench
