I hope our QB is crowned before some of you guys are talking about... I would rather know our starting QB before summer workouts start so our team can build chemistry together... and our QB can get plenty of reps.

On the same note, it is not a true competition if the finish line premature. The finish line is the first game of the season. Not giving everyone time to make a strong push at closing a gap near the end is rigged in favor those with a head start.
The only guy with a head start is Tiller. Barnett and Capello have less time on the field than Jantz. And listening to some of the people speak about Barnett's lack of knowledge of the offense due to injury, he's just as far behind as Jantz. However, the only guy getting a true shot at closing the gap is Jantz. So, once again, it's not a true competition. Thanks for making my point.
So now you are flipping and suggesting the finish line is premature until Barnett and Capello catch up to Jantz. Thank you for making my point- you are consumed by your bias. Understandable.
IMO, Barnett and Capello are ahead of Jantz in knowledge of this offense. Other people are saying he is behind because of his injury. But I'm sure that he still went to QB meetings, watched video, etc. And IMO and others (AA and Herman), Barnett is better mechanically than all of them. My problem is that they won't get the same chances as Jantz to be the guy due to lack of experience. I'm not bias as some may think....I just want the best players on the field no matter their classification.
On the other note.....There is no finish line! There was never a race!
It sounds like Barnett is impressing since I figured he'd be 4th string.
So you are recanting your absurd statement that Barrnett and Capello did not have a head start on Jantz- thank you. Of course, it is possible Jantz has already passed them by, but I doubt it.
Why again will the other QB's not get the same chances as Jantz and/or what do you have to support this?
I do agree there is not really a finish line- starter positions must be continually earned.
"Can you hear the words that are coming out of my mouth?" As far as on the field experience in this offense, Tiller is the only guy with a true head start. If this were not so, we would not be hearing CPR and Herman throwing out the "lack of experience card" when talking about Capello and Barnett. Jantz, however, will be the only one of the other three that will get a "real" opportunity to catch Tiller. I'm not the only one saying this???? That's my support. This is all about Tiller and Jantz.
I think Barnett is our best overall QB and I'm not backing down from that statement . Some think it's Jantz and some thinks it's Capello. I'm good with their opinions. But, Barnett has ALL of the intangibles that are needed at the QB position. CPR, Herman, and AA have all said the only thing he lacks is experience. I say play him and let him get the experience. What are they going to say next year....he doesn't have experience? How does he get it?

Well...according to the coaches, Barnett was injured last fall.Read your own words: "IMO, Barnett and Capello are ahead of Jantz in knowledge of this offense"
Barnett and Capello absolutely had a head start in becoming ISU's starting QB in 2011. Being at ISU, practicing with teammates, and having (and in theory, learning) the playbook at least 6 months earlier, is a "true head start"
Additionally, only Barnett is at an equal disadvantage in terms of in-game experience....which is only one metric of a head start.
I can see what hes saying. Even though I feel like Capello was the better QB last year, Tiller was given the nod last year because he had experience, while Capello was just a freshman. Coaches like experience at their most important position for big games.
Well...according to the coaches, Barnett was injured last fall.
Confusing causation and correlation.
CPR is not giving a nod to a QB because they have more experience. They give the nod to the player because the experience is one of the factors that the coach believes makes that player the best QB.
If some less experienced player was better, they would start.
While true, you don't "know" they are better for sure until they start. The better QB will start argument is completely flawed. Its happened on many occasions where the starting QB goes down, and the backup comes in and turns out to be better.
