That just means, if they tell me I won't be drafted. But he is getting drafted.

But it might not be about getting drafted as much as it is where he's projected to be picked. A first round pick means a guaranteed contract. A second round pick can get a guaranteed deal from the team that drafts him but that's not usually how it goes.

Probably moot, though. I think he's a mid-to-late first round pick.

Yep - it's way better that he's flat out saying it, and I respect the fact that he's all in. Obviously helps Prohm try to fill a spot, but I also think a definitive message by THT at least gives a bit more clarity for LW as he decides what to do. I'm sure he'll got through the process again, but knowing that he would be THE focal point of the offense helps. Even this season with Shayok and THT as high-volume players by the end of the season Lindell was the guy down the stretch. Next year there would be no doubt he's the alpha. Obviously being a year older doesn't help, and he may have a small chance of sneaking into the first round next year, but he has no chance of it this year.

Zion Griffin - time to be the next Cyclone to make a big jump from garbage time guy to significant contributor.

No they wouldn’t. I think LW staying is a pipe dream at this point. CSP needs to sign an impact grad transfer with all of the losses. We still have more talent than 17-18 but we are going to struggle to create easy opportunities on the offensive end unless he changes some schemes.

I am torn on how much of an effect it really has in recruiting. Maybe helps if all else is equal and that is the one thing ISU can sell over the other school. But most good programs can say the same thing.

Agreed. Our recent success, fan base and arena are what bring the kids to Ames. Most tournament-caliber teams have at least one kid leave early for the draft these days.

He is a project in the NBA meaning he needs development before he is going to be seeing time in the league. He will be a GL guy next season.

Agree.
No one in THT’s camp will be pushing the narrative that he’s not a project and has for years been honing his skills against the best competition. That doesn’t reflect well on his current game.

Yeah, if Wigginton is gone, they will be picked to be in the bottom of the conference. Unless guys greatly improve or the new guys surprise, it looks like a team that will have a lot of trouble scoring.

This is kind of what I thought. Who knows what kind of player Nixon will be in this conference, but on the surface there are no real bucket-getters. Hope I'm proven wrong.

THT is good, but I didn't think he had the talent to make it to the NBA just yet. I thought he would still need another year.

It should say he's declaring for the G league. It's probably good I'm not an NBA scout as I just don't see it at this point.

No doubt it is important for Lewis and Griffin to step up, realize thier tallent now the the opportunity is there and impact the rotation. Haliburton and Conditt will need to take bigger roles and should be ready to build on this past year's promising play. All of which is the plan of the staff and point coaching.
I'm also expecting one or two of Leech, Anderson and Jackson to surprise much like Tyrese did last year and get into the top 7.
I am sure the staff will look at the grad transfer market, but if they don't land anyone I still feel the program will be fine.
