THT Going into the Draft

All but about 8 people in this thread are the worst people.

Seriously. Wouldn't be a bit sad if y'all disappeared. From this forum, or from the Earth.

Some of us realize that not only is this a major blow to our prospects for next season, buts also a horrible decision on his part to leave so he can go play in front of 800 people every night instead of helping this program win a Big 12 championship.

Can't wait to watch you eat crow next season.

Both about ISU, and THT's location.

But to be honest, I'm gonna ignore you because you are actually the most insufferable human being ever to exist. Hope those power tools don't get away from ya.

Just a realist.

THT will be playing in the G-leauge next year. I dont remember giving any predictions about ISU next year either so I dont know what you are talking about. I said I'll give some predictions in a few months once we know what the final roster looks like.

For the sake of all of our sanity, those who want to hijack every MBB thread and have an argument about who is the better coach or what CSP is doing wrong, just pick one thread and please keep it there. The 10 of you can keep the fight up for the next 6 months for all I care just do it in one thread so I don't have to watch. I would like to come to this site and get information without all the crap!

On topic: THT is not coming back, the ISU MBB twitter would not send out the message they did if there was any chance he is coming back.

I am nervous about how good we will be next year, but I don't get paid millions to figure it out, and I will give my opinion when the roster for next year is set.

FWIW I heard wigginton is gone also

When someone reported he's in Canada...that's probably not a good sign.

THT evidently has enough NBA hype to get drafted...I don't think Wigginton has done anything to up his status. He's clearly going to see a lot of small town America or be learning a foreign language if he's not in Ames next year.

Well, he’d better grow 3 to 4 more inches if he hopes to stick in the NBA. If he stays 6’4”, he will be too small to play the 4, to slow to guard or play the 2, and not a good enough shooter to play the 3. He does however have that 7 foot wingspan. His potential will only be realized if he grows a few inches. Will he? Who knows. Somebody probably will gamble on it though. However, in the college game he is man among boys. My gut says he will have less success than any of our current ISU alums in the NBA right now. The player he most closely resembles is Burton, but without the explosion. Got G league written all over him. Again though, he’s only 18.

Nobody is expecting him to grow 3 inches and hes still going to get drafted

No they wouldn’t. I think LW staying is a pipe dream at this point. CSP needs to sign an impact grad transfer with all of the losses. We still have more talent than 17-18 but we are going to struggle to create easy opportunities on the offensive end unless he changes some schemes.

Thanks Coach GeneriQuote

You’re not getting it. Kane was great in college but that was in large part because he was a 23 year old man playing against mostly 18-20 year olds. He wasn’t too old for the NBA they just didn’t think he was good enough when he didn’t have the huge physical advantage over his competition. THT was not as good as Kane this year but he’s barely 18, imagine how good he would be in five years against the same level of competition.

I am imagining it and I dont see him being that dominate. I'd wait and see how he develops in college. But hey, if some NBA team wants to pay him to train for a couple years then good for him.

I didn’t say he wouldn’t get drafted on potential. I just don’t think his potential will get realized unless he grows. He’s a tweener.

All the more reason to declare now then. Get your money off potential if they're willing to give it to you. Don't gamble on whether they still want you a couple years down the road.

For those saying that he won't make it or he's going to the G league, remember that NBA 1st rounders have guaranteed contracts.
