Thoughts on the Baylor game

I would say if we play well the rest of the season, we could end up .500 in the Big XII

I would say if we play OUTSTANDING the rest of the season we could end up .500 in the Big 12. If we can go 7-9 we are an NIT lock. At 6-10 I think it is 50/50 and you'd need a Big 12 tournament win to get to a lock.

Having said that, I said pre-conference I thought we'd go 5-11 and I'm sticking to it although hoping we can win 1 or 2 more beyond that.

This was a big confidence booster. Had we lost this game I would be scared to think what might have happened. Let's get Mizzou and get up to 4-5 in the conference and now start looking at conference tournament seedings with the remaining games. Would be nice to get somewhere in that 5-8 seed range where we'd get paired against a beatable team first round.

I don't think, considering where our MBB team is at right now, as fans we're in a position to criticize our team by saying which wins are big and which aren't. I think a lot of us (including myself) were kidding ourselves early on in the Big XII season when after the KU game we were beginning to think that this team was capable of going on a run that would lead us to the NCAAs. We just don't have the talent or experience that allows McD to implement his system fully. This team has shown promise (such as yesterday), as well as McD doing a heck of a job recruiting so far, and I think that will lead to bigger and better things NEXT YEAR.

I think this season all wins are big wins because all wins teach our young team what it takes and how to win. As far as I'm concerned, we could play and beat Iona tomorrow (who got their first D-I win of the season yesterday) and I'll consider that a big win b/c of the experience it will provide our team.
