Things to not go "Cheap" or "Generic"

I think a lot of the generic hy-vee stuff is good enough; the packaging is usually pretty terrible though

I agree with Heinz and Cling Wrap. HyVee cereals are good, Fareway's not so much.

HyVee sold this when I was in college in the late 70's/early 80's. It should have been labeled WATER!

I had to laugh at this. Hy Vee and Fareway cereals are exactly the same product, just in a different box.

I work for the company that makes them.

For those of you that hate generic TP, I've been buying the Sam's Club brand for years. Feels like Charmin.

scotch
vodka
TP
golf clubs
golf balls
golf courses
clothes
mac & cheese (i'll try of bite of my kids occasionally, have to get the Annies or homemade)
cell phone provider (Verizon vs sprint)

You all do realize that 99.9% of the time the generic is also made by the leading name brand right?

I wouldn't say it's that high, but in many cases you are correct. Having said that, it's almost never the same product as the brand, because that dilutes the branded product.

Golf balls!

Nothing like landing one next to the pin, and having it run out 15 feet because you are playing with a Top Flight rather than a ProV1.

Was thinking more Armani or Jimmy Choo. Nice though!

actually cologne is one thing you can definitely go generic on. Armani doesn't have a cologne factory, they go to perfumier and have it made. Its like buying an Armani or burberry watch. You just bought a 12 dollar watch with a label on it and paid $300, Its soooo stupid.
