The Truth (with no dare involved) .........

I have one of Seneca Wallace's helmet logos from the '02 Nebraska game.

I have lifted weights in the Hilton weight room and been in both locker rooms.

I lived in Hollywood Fizer's dorm room the year after he did and it took me forever to figure out who the hell this Darnell Visor it was that everyone kept calling the room for during our '99-'00 campaign (:wink:).

Helped JJ Moses and Jarret Lollace out at the Boys and Girls club along with a lot of the other players and Atif Austin is one of the worst basketball players I have ever seen. :biggrin:

My friend let Jamaal Tinsley borrow his bicycle to get to class one day and Jamaal didn't give it back for like 2 weeks.

ISU grad - winter quarter 1978.
I attended ISU Basketball Camp in the summer of 1971 - run by Maury John. Former Drake player Willie McCarter was my coach.
I once roomed with former ISU bball player Evan Varley (father of former ISU bball player Clint Varley.
I finished 7th place in intramural co-rec badminton.
I attended every home football game while I was a student (1973-1977).
And the highlight: I once threw a paper airplane from the top row (east side) of Cyclone Stadium that reached the field - received a huge cheer from the crowd.
 
In the marching band, grad, and season football ticket holder. Oh and I currently live next to Andy Leaders. He is a really nice guy.

I took a good friend to that game, it was his first. He was really pissed that I made him stay until the final outcome, not that's still his #1 Cyclone story.
 
My older brother took me to my first FB game at Clyde Williams when I was 12. Dexter Green was playing and Luther Blue ran the 2nd half kickoff back for a TD. The ISU students did a cheer that included a swear word and I was shocked - and thrilled.

Been an avid fan since and really have no choice in that matter.

BSBA '87. Was there on the "9 year plan". Which means I saw a LOT of games...

.played frosh foootball for clay stapelton in 58.tore my knee up very badly.so had to quit football.
wrestled for the great wrestling coach harold nichols 4 yrs.
 
I shot pool with two secret service men at the Tip-Top. We did not know who they were when it happened. My girlfriend was serving breakfast to Ronald Regan the next morning.(She worked at a large hotel in DM) They followed both of us home that night. I thought they were a couple of pervs trolling for coeds. They told her the truth the next AM after she served the prez.
 
Let's see, I sat next to Johnny Orr on a flight to St Louis in 1986. My sister fixed David ???(DrumMajor) uniform in 1983 before a game. I called Jeff Hornacek during his NBA rookie year while they were in Dallas. And I used to be mistaken for Chris Taylor quite a bit.
 
Was lucky enough to attend the Nebraska upset (Marv Seiler game).

Stood next to/chatted with the Mayor in line to see "Twister' when it came out.
 
Back when I was in school, Jason Berryman jacked me in the face and stole my cell phone.



..... okay, actually I did undergrad and grad school at ISU and like several others on the board, I also spent a little time in the band.
 
My first "live" cyclone memory is yelling "Sit Down Tubbs!" as a little kid.

Moved into an apartment right after Tyson Smith and DeAndre Jackson lived there, and it was an absolute pit. Got a FedEx from the New York Giants for Tyson and was happy to bring it down to the athletic department and he actually signed with the Giants shortly thereafter. I was really happy I did that.

Mary Fox sat down next to me at Paddy's one time when I was really drunk and I made a complete embarrassment out of my myself when I was talking to her. I was dating my wife at the time and I wasn't even trying to pick up on her, I was just that hammered.
 
Hugged Troy David last year at a football game (haven't showered since)

Was in the Marching band and am currently involved in the alumni marching band

I have touched the cy-hawk trophy

met my wife at ISU

Saw a tornado touch down the night of the CU game

share the same last name as our AD
 
ISU beat Iowa every year in FB that I was an undergrad ('98-'02).

Met the wife at ISU - good old dining services romance.

Worked the Club section for dining services in '01. Easy work with parties afterward. Great times.

Currently work for ISU, but it doesn't have anything to do directly related to athletics. Wife works for ISU right now as well.

LOL, I might've been sitting next to you since my student season tickets were invariably in the top 3 rows in Hilton for nearly every game. Luckily, since it's a personal rule of mine that since I bought the ticket I'm going to watch every damn second of the game, I stayed and enjoyed the Okie St game very much.


EDIT: I guess I should add to the thread's purpose: I grew up in Minnesota (Big 10 country) and didn't really know a damn thing about ISU prior to looking at college destinations. However, I recall one of my better friends in junior high had an yellow ISU sweatshirt with the walking Cy on it. Apparently his dad was a graduate. I thought that sweatshirt was pretty cool. Also, when my former bowling coach (yeah, bowling coach) found out I was going to ISU, he mentioned he graduated from ISU. That was my only exposure to ISU prior to my orientation trip. I signed on sight unseen.

I remember (or do i?...i was young) watching cyclone football game replays on sunday nights on channel 5 at 10:35. It was the mid-late 80's at the time of these replays.

The astro turf and a poultry 15,000-20,000 fans in the stands always stuck out.
