I hope people will forgive me for re-introducing this thread, but it has been over two years since it was written, and that means there are two years worth of new members to the Fanatic family.
This was a lot of fun to find out how we were all related, how we became Cyclone fans and get to know each other a little bit better.
As always, GO CYCLONES

I am very new to the board, and perhaps this violates some rule or something but I really want to get to know poster's just a little better. There are some funny, smart, passionate people out there, and after reading TheCity's thread AGAIN, maybe this would give our football recruiting coordinator Aclone a chance to say he talks to potential recruits!!!!!!! Just kidding Aclone.
Would everyone be willing to state ONE FACT about themselves which relates to Cyclone Athletics, whether it is the football team, basketball teams, soccer, wrestling, etc? Maybe everyone knows other peoples connections to ISU Athletics and maybe this is a bad idea, but I would kinda like to know where some people are coming from and what their connection to the university may or may not be. I don't expect people to say I am the starting right guard, or I am City's brother; nothing that would specifically give away an identity, just what is one of your links to Cyclone sports.Yes? No?

Once upon a time, I was a spotter for Frank Snyder and Ev Cochrane in the press box, many, many many, years ago.
John Miller, you do not have to play, and thank you Aclone for being an example.

Go Cyclones.

I'm one of the idiots you'll see at football or basketball game with the Game Bibs, face paint, and red hair

Former Student.

As a freshman I once ran into and knocked down Johnny Orr at a football game without realizing who he was.

I sleep with someone that works for the university, just dont tell my wife!

Ba-dum-bum!

I was in the marching band. Does that count?

Also, I just found out last week that my uncle was a javelin thrower at ISU in the 1950s.

Oh, and my distant cousin was a walk-on for the basketball team who graduated last year. And another distant cousin (who I've never met) is a redshirt freshman on the football team this year.

Oh, and I also sleep with someone who works for the university. (Can't believe I almost forgot that.)

Quite possibly the biggest embarrassment of my life:

When I was in elementary school, I had tickets in the very top row, and I left the great Oklahoma State basketball game early.

At a VEISHEA event in '94, won seasons tickets to 16 ISU minor sports, and never used them.

No connections. Just a fan that has followed ISU since the early '70s. Mrs. yCy

Very interesting. How long have you been doing this? I don't know of anyone with this type of connection.

Wow. That takes some Moxie. In the early sixties, I didn't even know there was another university in the state because I grew up in eastern Iowa and had to read Gus Schrader in the Gazette.
