Matt Campbell is not the only coach who would have pocketed the timeout for use while running the 2 minute offense.
If you want to be mad at anything, be mad at the fact that our two minute offense was being executed a bit slow.

You'd think so, but this is the third game where we would think we had enough time at the end to mount a comeback, and had to frantically push at the end. (Baylor, Clemson, wvu). It's an issue that kept on popping up.
For me, the bigger problem is continually burning timeouts because of not getting plays in and just generally poor game management. That happened all season and again tonight.
Andy Reid was terrible at time management until he had Patrick Mahomes. When ISU has a winning QB this won’t be an issue.
What do you call a winning QB? Purdy had a winning record.
And just about every record in our books.. people who blame any of this on Purdy are short-sighted...
Maybe I just watch too much NFL and overestimate college teams efficiency at this kinda thing. I feel like college level should have this stuff down by now though.
Campbell doesn’t exactly run a sloppy culture. There’s no excuse for it.
No QB will win here more than this until the line is fixed.
A Seneca esque athlete would maybe be the only exception here.
If you want to call it "nitpicking" then so be it, but it was really an unexplainable mistake. You have to take that timeout there. As others have mentioned, there's no other scenario where you can save as much time as you could by taking a timeout there. Plus you have an experienced team and experienced QB that should know how to run a 2 minute drill without the benefit of that timeout.
clock management is not a strength of this coaching staff. They absolutely fail and understanding the concept that if you are behind in the second half, you slow the game down to maximize possessions. Conversely, when you are ahead you speed the game up. Our staff took their own sweet time between plays in the second half. Oh, and burning two time outs is killer. You always want to save them until the end.
It’s clear CMC has never played Madden/NCAA Football… using your timeout on defense is something 12 year olds understand. Simply inexcusable clock management issues for a coaching staff at the collegiate level, surely one of the 69 members on the coaching staff could take on the added responsibility of clock management.
These types of posts are always so dumb. Pathologically lying about the intent of the post. The dude did not come in here saying this is why we lost. Go somewhere, go shopping maybe, find an interesting take on this post, and come back with it.
