You gotta remember that this is a business deal; take the emotion out of it. It's the BYU administration's job to get the best conference deal they can, especially if they're going to stop being independent. It's the Big 12's job to integrate any new conference members while maintaining equitable treatment for current members.

If BYU gets too many "special demands" if they join, blame the Big 12, not BYU.

Ideally, the Big 12 would treat ALL members the same, regardless of their level of "significance."

That's not why I don't want them. I don't want them because of their attitude that the Big 12 would be "privileged" to have BYU in their conference, and all of the special demands that go with their attitude. I have no problems with scheduling around Sundays. I have no problems with letting them keep their BYU Network. It's their insistence of being treated like (or better) than the Big 12 would treat Texas or Notre Dame without the same level of relevance or significance that I don't like. Plus they're a hell of a lot farther away than Louisville without being more significant than Louisville.
It's my understanding that the talks with BYU never progressed to a point of special considerations, so I don't think they were considered above TCU and West Virginia. I don't think BYU thinks they can keep all of their home games and join the Big XII.

Which may very well be. I didn't follow it as closely as a lot of other people did (I've actually been busy at work since I moved up here to Detroit).

Enjoy being treated equally as LSU and Alabama... One may say we treat all the same despite 'significance' but that would probably be just blowing smoke.

To be fair, a good 3000-4000 of these posts are Mizzoulander trolling and meta-posting about how many posts there are :-)

What's the over/under on this thread getting to 2,000 posts? oops, make that 20,000. my bad

The conference needs to get to 12 teams. The ideal number imho. Allows for one more non-con game, and still lets you see all the teams in the other division on a regularly scheduled basis, so you know what the future schedule will look like. Plus the extra revenue of a championship game.

Don't have a clue as to who would make up the 11th and 12th spots. Louisville is the most logical for one, especially with WVU in the fold. Who the last team would be is a puzzler for sure, since we can't seem to get ND interested.

Wait until I post my 14-page pre-season SEC preview. We'll pass 30K.

I don't suppose there's the slightest chance you could just keep that preview to the Mizzou sites? Ooh,and btw, I'm not one who thinks you'll suck in the SEC. At least not in the east division. Both bus loads of Mizzou fans will see you have road success in the SEC.

Is our bowl game a preview of a future conference match up? I like Louisville and BYU or Louisville and Rutgers as adds a lot better than Louisville and Cinci.
