Apparently the TAMU regents are be having a telephonic meeting monday to talk conference affiliation. Guessing this means done deal.

It should be noted that with A&M removed, and Texas and OU on board, the Big 12's instability will be down a lot.

A&M has really been the only school threatening to go. If the others stay, it isn't unstable.

Gee, I see a lot of posters in these threads who were claiming Texas A&M could/would never leave, and made fun of those who thought otherwise...

Has A&M officially left yet? Until it is official and they are out of the Big XII then your comment really has no merit.

Rule #1 of the CF smartass handbook:

You can't call another poster out until you know officially that their post is 100% incorrect.

You sir have violated Rule #1. Now time for the ban-hammer.

Exactly. All these "suggestions" for schools to join the Big 12 are pipe dreams. Our conference is a mess.

I think the Big 12 has some viable options, but none will be as good as losing Texas A&M. The Big 12 could reasonably add Houston or BYU.

ESPN report from Joe Schad....nothing really new except Beebe is denying the claims that he was focused solely on Texas and that the conference could survive w/o A&M.

SEC in high demand? Texas A&M, Florida State talk simmers - ESPN

Edit: At least academics are a part of these discussions....

The Big 12 is stressing it has six members with AAU Academic Accreditation compared to two in the SEC, a note Branch said could be part of a "wholistic view."

That's rich - you mean like using the term "tinfoil hat brigade?"

Asked about multiple reports that he told Texas A&M officials that Texas was the key to the future of the Big 12 and that the Big 12 would survive without the Aggies, Beebe said in a text message to ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's Ian Fitzsimmons those reports are "totally inaccurate."

Aggie spreading FUD??? Impossible...

I think they're gone, but I think that A) we're going to be just fine (which is the only reason I've cared) and B) they'll get their head kicked in and wish they'd never left.

Hopefully their fans dont decide to riot and start bonfires...

What is also funny is that all of the people acting like Florida State to the SEC is a done deal and Florida State saying that talk is all rumors. LIke the post points out, why would they leave when the have usually dominated the ACC.
