The Fran fade

Probably not. I just think it's funny how some claim quad 1 wins as the gospel on here and then in another post complain how dumb they're (which they're)

Basing an opinion of net is asinine, if you cant use your eyes to judge a teams play your a moron.

It’s more about the ranking of some individual teams in that they’ve beaten up on low ranked teams and have been rewarded for that.

In your opinion should blowout wins vs inferior teams count more in these rankings/metrics? If team A and Team B beat team C by 4 and 18 should the team that won by more be rewarded or is it strictly just win/lose?

Same question with close losses? Does losing by 6 vs 22 warrant any different opinion

One part is was it road, home, neutral?

I could care less about how many points team A beats the school of the blind. How did they do against actual good teams?

Could be either. If you saw one team beat quad 3/4 teams to organize them by an average of 23 points and the other by 8 should we think better of 1 team?
What if that those teams played each other and the team who put up the big numbers got embarrassed by the team who beat the others by less?

I wasn't specifically talking about Iowa or Iowa State I was just gaging how you view that sort of thing. I think close losses and bigger victories should have some impact but I do think NET has too much bearing on that with the efficiency numbers. It needs to be more SOR and less KP imo

I can agree with that.

LOL Iowa ranked after one decent win over an overrated team.....smh
Holy ****, it didn't even occur to me that would be a possibility this week. What a joke. It's like the Big 10 west in football. One mediocre team gets overrated, and then when another mediocre team beats them, instead of saying "hey that team we thought was good is actually pretty average", they say "hey that team we thought wasn't good is actually great!" It's ridiculous.

My dad is Iowa grad and I watch games with him. The Hawks are a fun team to watch. Fran is not a very good defensive coach, but his teams are very solid on offense. They do a great job in getting cutters and dribble penetration to the basket.

The other thing he has done a great job of doing is recruiting length. If Prohm is the PG whisperer, then Fran is the post player whisperer. He has gotten great production with not highly recruited big men during his time at Iowa.

Would love for TJ to recruit length to the Clones roster over the next couple years. There are people on this board who like to criticize players like Payton Sandfort, but I love 6'6"+ wings that can shoot 3 pointers.

Fran has had one post player in like 12 years and he doesn't get credit for him either. Frank did the smart thing and pulled Luka out of Iowa City so he could develop. his game.

I’m just happy Iowa has a decent NET and isnt hurting our resume as a crappy win.
Iowa, like us, is a solid basketball team. They, like us, shouldn’t be ranked. It’s all moot because both teams will be in the tournament and similarly seeded. Just frustrating to watch a team be rewarded for beating up on really poor teams.

No question that the Hoks have had a much softer schedule... non con and con.
