The Fran fade

My dad is Iowa grad and I watch games with him. The Hawks are a fun team to watch. Fran is not a very good defensive coach, but his teams are very solid on offense. They do a great job in getting cutters and dribble penetration to the basket.

The other thing he has done a great job of doing is recruiting length. If Prohm is the PG whisperer, then Fran is the post player whisperer. He has gotten great production with not highly recruited big men during his time at Iowa.

Would love for TJ to recruit length to the Clones roster over the next couple years. There are people on this board who like to criticize players like Payton Sandfort, but I love 6'6"+ wings that can shoot 3 pointers.
Fran has a tremendous eye for recruiting forwards or developing them especially when you consider how little they were sought after- White, Baer, Uthoff, Keegan and Kris. This excludes Cook who was more sought after. I just wish it extended to guards

Can sandfort play defense?
I haven't seen him play enough to really determine if the kid can or cannot. In the last five games he has played 58 minutes, while Fran's oldest boy has played right around 100 minutes of playing time. With all that playing time Conner has scored 18 points, 9 asst, and 18 rebounds, The Sandfort kid 18 rebounds, 2 assts, and 28 points, in about half the time on the floor.

How about getting McCafe and McCafe no-fat type players? Is that what you want?

I'd take Patrick, probably not Connor. But then I'd take Connor over some of Prohm's recruits.

Halliburton was a no-fat type player. I'd take him every day! Thin don't bother me.

Are you saying Haliburton and McCafe no-fat are equal level players??? I think you may be drunk.

You're counting Uthoff as a transfer? #rightway

Congrats on your first Q1 win. Now you are no longer the only team in the top 35 without a Q1 win, you are merely the only team in the top 35 with only one Q1 win.

Think it will be a sellout at CHA tomorrow? I thought they already retired the Garza jersey, or are they now retiring his warmup jacket? They can stretch this on for years, next will be his shorts, then his warmup pants, then his shoes and hopefully they will stop there

edit: my bad, I forgot about Houston. Two teams.
Just an FYI, there are a ton of big HS games on Tuesday as that is 1A and 2A district finals that night.

Spoken like a true hawk fan! FYI his post has to be nominated for the lamest excuse for not selling out a D1 basketball game. Ban this idiot for being an idiot!

There’s zero reason why Iowa should be now ranked. Winning at Ohio State doesn’t negate the bad home loss to Michigan just two days prior.

The respect the B1G conference has (without being earned) is mind boggling. o_O

That said, Saturday's win does set up as the Peak and we see the Fran fade start tomorrow vs unranked MSU.

Probably not. I just think it's funny how some claim quad 1 wins as the gospel on here and then in another post complain how dumb they're (which they're)
