The Fran fade

A KU/Iowa Sweet 16 matchup would be the absolutely worst matchup ever to watch for a Cyclone fan. No matter who wins...we lose. KU seems like defensively they could make things difficult for Iowa. Garrett would have Weiskamp on lockdown I'd have to assume, and KU has enough size to challenge Garza, but I don't think enough offense to knock them out.

Is it public who is dealing with the positive Covid test or subject to contact tracing for KU?

On the CBS Sports bracket challenge it shows who's injured/out for each team. For KU it lists McCormack and Enaruna as out with "Not Injury Related". Also a couple end of bench guys. Assuming that's who it is and that covid is the "not injury related".

They can talk about the strong foundation he's built all they want, I just don't see how this extension still looks like a good idea 18 months from now.

It only took 11 years to build that strong foundation. Next year, they will be awful.

You never know how these will work out.

There were quite a few Iowa fans not happy after Fran's last extension and he is 74-47 since he signed that one.

The extension makes total sense considering Fran only had through the 2023-2024 season on his current deal. It seems to be pretty rare to have less than 4-5 years on your deal in major college football or basketball for recruiting purposes.

No base salary increase for the next 2 years but will increase each of the last 5 years of the deal. I would be interested to see what the buyout terms are.
