I'm not unhappy with Iowa's draw at all. Every 7 or 10 seed is going to present some challenges.
Just so long as we avoid the embarrassment of joining the dreaded 2 losing to a 15 club. Don't even want to think about that!
Ugh, even saying that makes me cringe. Iowa and ISU fans knows what that feels like to get upset by a low seed. NW St., Hampton and Alabama-Birmingham all were big kicks in the sack.
I doubt Iowa loses, but I’m intrigued at the potential battle of the bigs. GCU’s Asbjorn Midtgaard is a load down low. 7’0” 270 who averages 14 and 10 a game.
He never did much in 3 years at Wichita State so thinking the uptick in his production is completely due to the move to a low major conference.
I was hoping somehow miraculously Drake moved into the 15 to knock them out. Payback for them canceling playing them and UNI. I suppose it could still happen but they have to win some games.
That could certainly be the case, however he did have 14 and 9 against ASU and 16 and 9 against Colorado this year, so it’s not like he did bad against P5 teams.
Football team was overrated....Basketball team is underrated. I guess it's just a matter of who they play in the post season.
I've got Iowa going to the Elite 8 in my bracket. Grand Canyon is a layup, Oregon/VCU are too small to deal with Garza, and even if KU can play, they really just aren't very good this year. Looks like the Sweet 16 drought will finally come to an end for the lovable losers.
A KU/Iowa Sweet 16 matchup would be the absolutely worst matchup ever to watch for a Cyclone fan. No matter who wins...we lose. KU seems like defensively they could make things difficult for Iowa. Garrett would have Weiskamp on lockdown I'd have to assume, and KU has enough size to challenge Garza, but I don't think enough offense to knock them out.
