Naw, not winning the tourney championship and probably getting bounced first round doesn’t sit well at ISU. Doing very poorly there usually means you won’t do well in the NCAA tournament.

Foster is at Iowa State because of the brand, not the coach. He grew up a Hawk fan. If he wanted to be there, he would have committed out of HS.
LOL. You are arguing something that doesn't even exist. The Big 12, SEC, Pac 12, Big 10 and ACC all have conference championship games and don't award a regular season conference championship in football. The winner of the, sit down this is going to be crazy, Conference Championship Game, is the winner of the conference title in football.
All of the aforementioned conferences recognize a regular season and conference tournament champion in basketball.
In ranks of importance I would go like this as would almost any other fan except ISU fans.
1) Winning the Conference Championship Game in Football. I put this first because football is a much bigger deal than basketball is.
2) Winning the regular season championship in Basketball.
3) Winning the conference tournament in Basketball.
All three are great accomplishments though and something to be proud of.
In the last 10 years:
Teams winning their conference championship game, going on to win the NCAA championship- Football: 8 out of last 10
Basketball: 4 out of last 10
Almost as if the basketball tournament doesn’t really matter.
Not a fan of game and never have been. He was over 7’ in high school and stood on the arc rather than posting up and getting easy baskets. He’s OK shooter but I really don’t see the NBA potential. He’s an Iowa kid so I hope he proves me wrong, I just don’t see it.

Still getting used to being the football school in Iowa. We watched you guys do it for so many years that we just figured that that is what we are supposed to do.
