The Fran fade

Short bus dropped off a bunch of trollers on this thread today. Not quite big enough to hold their egos though.

We are what, 4 days and 1 game removed from being straight up murdered by Michigan, so now the Fran Fade never existed? Am I missing something?

Iowa faded in January this year FWIW. Lost twice to a .500 team. They have had an OK Feb, basically took care of business and had one instance where I would consider them "stealing" a win, that being yesterday.

So it is an "OK" Feb. when you go from a 4 seed to a 2 seed and sit at #5 in the AP poll and the NET rankings?

LOL man, Iowa having a great year is making you lose your mind.

FIFY. KenPom has them as the 3rd most efficient offense in the country. They have a 53.5% effective fg%.
Well then I guess the Hawks have finally figured out the defense. Or Ohio was just really cold yesterday. Either way, looked like ****

I have never seen a team lose by 22 and move up 4 spots in the AP Poll. Guess Michigan is well thought of. Their body of work says they are the #1 team. 1 loss in the best conference in the country says a lot.

I mean, I don't think they were on the 2 line after the drubbing on Thursday night. It took them until the very last day in Feb to get to that. Really just setting themselves for a more epic choke job in March.

When you go on the road and pretty much dominate a team from start to finish, that is not stealing a win. Iowa lead almost the entire game and a lot of it was by double digits. Now if it was a back and forth game and Iowa made a couple plays at the end of the game to get a win, I might agree with you.
like the OSU game in IC. close game and all of the sudden they hit 4 straight 3s in about 1:30 of game time (3 by Ahrens).

Uh, yeah they were. Iowa was a #6 in the Net after the Michigan loss. Iowa went 1-1 vs top 5 teams this week, playing both games on the road.

If Iowa flops in the NCAA, they won't be the first or last team to do so. I mean Fred **** the bed in March as well.

Or just take a look at what some of the teams above them did last week. Oklahoma lost twice and once was to KSU. Villanova lost by double digits to Butler.

That is just the AP fixing a mistake in the rankings they have had for awhile now. I mean Iowa has been hovering around #5-#8 in the NET for awhile, so the AP just voted them to where the NET says basically.

When you go on the road and pretty much get dominated by a team from start to finish, that's a lack of preparing for your opponent. Iowa was behind almost the entire game and a lot of it was by double digits in the second half. Now if it was a back and forth game and Iowa made a couple plays at the end of the second half to get a win, I might agree with you, but they folded.

Juan Howard helped fix your post and now approves of it!

Iowa usually flops in the B1G tournament first though.

Doesn't Iowa have 7 losses? And they are on the 2 line....further proving my point that this is a SOFT year in CBB

It took a lot of help from other teams flailing this week to keep Iowa where they are at now.

LOL, only 6 teams in Power conferences don't end up failing in conference tournaments. Conference tournaments are meaningless unless you are horrible and you manage to win the conference tournament.

I can understand how you'd see it as a down year from your perspective.

Do you even watch basketball? In 2018 tournament Kansas was a #1 seed and had 7 losses and a #2 seed had 10 losses. In '17 Duke has 8 losses as a 2 seed, so did Louisville and NC had a #1 seed with 7 losses.

JFC Iowa being top 5 has made you lose your mind.

Definitely a lot of losses, I agree. However, they lost to the #1 team and the rest have been against B10 teams, which is the best conference I have seen in CBB in a while. That would be obvious justification for where they are.

So, if lowa would lose their first game it wouldn't affect their seed? Plus you can say they are meaningless since Iowa has never one one under Fran, LOL!!
