3 years ago I was in Carver for Iowa State vs. Iowa. The atmosphere was pathetic compared to what it is for wrestling.
If you bet against your own team, then you are rooting for them to do bad. I could never do that against an Iowa team or any team I root for. But then again I don't gamble on sports much either outside of a friendly golf game, friendly wager between friends or buying a square at a SB party.
To be fair, every single school / fan believes their fans are the best and the most loyal.
Means something a little different when Iowa State fans ACTUALLY WENT to Iowa State.

I'm around a lot of Iowa fans that all went to Iowa or still go to Iowa, but I get what you're saying. I meant it more from the perspective that you always hear AD's, coaches, fans, players of schools claiming their fans are the most loyal.
I think that for the most part, most fan bases are loyal, especially the ones that don't continuously have great success. I'd love to see how loyal Ohio State or Alabama fans would be if their football teams were consistently having 8-4 seasons.
