How many fg's does he attempt a game like 4? Again his shooting percentage isn't near as big of negative when you consider he's not trying to be prentiss Nixon out there. Why do you think Garza gets so many good looks at the basket? The man we're talking about is a big part of it.
He can 1)Drive there 2) Sleep in a motel 6 3) take along some sandwiches 4) I don't drink so that would solve that 5) Already drove so that handles that part. Could probably get by for a couple hundred bucks.
His FG % should be higher if he's playing with the National Player of the Year. If you are even mediocre and you play with someone that good, you should be able to make some buckets because of the attention being diverted.
I can clearly remember sitting in the courtside seats for a game at Hilton against Nebraska back in the McDermott days and one of the Nebraska players getting T'd up for yelling "gimme that ****" while blocking a shot. This isn't anything new, not sure why these blue check marks are up in arms about it on the twitter.
Garza and Bohannon are the 2 big weak links imo defensively. Bohannon was better last night but i doubt we get that same effort night after night. The rest of the individuals are ok to mediocre. Keegan is probably are best all around defender
What? A true freshman that doesn't get that many minutes is the best defender on a team where that's probably their biggest problem?
His minutes are increasing. I see what you're implying against fran and it's fair but he also has natural gifts some of our others don't
If we didn't have Garza i might think hes playing too much but as long as we have him I like Connors role
I love checking out away games. Much like my concert mindset.
Life's too short to not check that stuff out once in a while, and after living thru this pandemic for the last 9 months I probably will try to do even more if normalcy comes back next summer.
I've made day trips to Memphis for bowl games, Oklahoma, TX for games, so maybe he lives somewhere really far away, I dunno. Hell, I made a day trip to Nashville when we played Vandy in bball a few years back, and the town's impression on me is why I didn't poo-poo Iowa landing there vs Mizzou. Like I said, I'd rather be in Nashville than Memphis.
His role is to be poor defensively and do nothing offensively so teams can double Garza easily
Agree, We are going to try to make all the big xii stadiums. With the kids getting older (2 in college next year) it may be easier, but harvest season makes it difficult. Will try to hit september and november ones first and go from there for the ones we havent' been too. Nearly all are just along 35 so the drive isn't bad.
You admit garza is "that good" but you can't understand the idea of how important a simple pass is to him on the block? I don't get it. He's not poor defensively
Make sure you get to WV if possible. They specifically have one alum husband and wife, that posts here, that has a huge tailgate party and it is awesome. Very fun time.
