For most part yes. Last night Jordan really played better defensively though. Its almost more upsetting because idk why he doesn't always play with that same effort? First 9 games Bohannon was a killer. Last night he was the mvp yes he made shots but he wasn't a liability on other end. Idk i guess. Definitely needs to have short hook if he's playing like he did vs Gonzaga
Big 10 has a lot of good teams, similar to what the Big 12 had been the last 7-8 years when it was the best conference per Ken Pom. Because of the parity going to be tough to escape with 5 or fewer losses.
Big 12 is pretty binary this year. 5 bad to mediocre teams. Then the other half of the league is in the top 13.
Tough to tell so far IMO. I legit believe Iowa is good but we need to see more. From the sounds of it Iowa struggled at times last night and most probably don't have NW as a tournament team. If you take NW's kenpom ranking and add them into the B12, they'd be 8th out of 11th and would be in your bad to mediocre range.
Iowa beat a ranked team last night by 15 points. Iowa is going to have keep bringing it every night in order to have a winning record and more in the big 10 this year.
It’s probably hard for him to do it every night physically. He’s had a ton of wear and tear.
While I have no doubt he loves playing for Iowa maybe he’s a little burned out mentally. He’s probably been grinding since junior high. I’m sure he takes plenty of social media **** since he’s been struggling. I think we underestimate what a grind it is for these guys, especially a guy that lacks physical gifts. I am sure for a guy like that it’s been over a decade of grinding. You are bound to have some days where you just don’t have it.
What will be telling is if Iowa can beat good teams away from home. That will be what can elevate them from just another 6-7 seed to a 1-3.
And they were also only up 3 with 10 min to go but I am glad you are on the "ranking at the time" side of the rankings debate. Iowa's defense will be the key.
He is poor defensively. It’s the reason he won’t be in the NBA for very long, if it all. The scouts literally say it. He wouldn’t last a game with the spacing on pick and rolls in the NBA.

Some of this is true but i also think he could of been more engaged defensively in the beginning of the year. I thought he had lost a full step after the problems with the hip but he was moving as well as he ever has last night. Which is still not quick but quicker. I have no idea of how he recovers when its a quick turnaround to the next game. If he's going to talk as much as he does i would like to see last nights effort as much as possible though
