The Fran fade

I just don't know why either side wants to argue who's the better player.. They're completely different players. Like absolute opposites. I just hate these sorts of conversations / arguments because all either side does is try to tear down one player to prop up the other.
It's because Triangle is a clown and I want to annoy him.

KCRG in Cedar Rapids called Iowa "one of the favorites to win a national championship". Um, is the same team that was 5th place at 11-9 in their own conference? They will be good, but the knee jerk overreaction is comical. The other thing I find odd is how the local CR media virtually ignored the Iowa FB racism story, but go overboard with Luka Garza. Hard-hitting journalism! Big Ole Fish gets more airtime than a scandal that nearly blew up the Iowa FB program.

If TH stayed healthy all season, we don't know what would have happened. Unless you have the ability to run real-life simulations?
Or the fact that Garza will have to more years in the NCAA compared to Halli who left after a sophomore because, you know, he's going to be drafted in the top-10.

I'm sure if any person would ask Halliburton about Garza and him having more college accolades, Tyrese would laugh, blow his nose into a wad of hundred dollar bills, and walk away.

This probably sounded more clever in your head than it actually was.

Prohm has done such a number on ISU basketball fans that they actually think a 2nd team all conference guy is a better college basketball player than the runner up for NPOY.

Enjoy the season because the tank is gonna be empty next year.... Things are cyclical for the non blue bloods and Iowa fans will be reminded next year. Ironically Iowa will be trending down and Iowa State will be trending up.

Garza will definitely have a more decorated college career. TH will have a much better NBA career. Actually, I should probably say 'pro career' because it's not really fair to compare the NBA to overseas professional leagues.

Iowa has a chance to be good, but I think alot of the hype is premised on the idea that JBo will be back and healthy, Joe W. remembers how to play basketball and Garza can stay healthy and as effective as he was last year. All "what ifs", but there is certainly potential there.

Iowa will be down, no doubt, for the 21-22 season. I still think they are middle of the pack in the B1G that year as of now.

ISU is trending up from what? Last year's team? I would agree but that doesn't take much at all.

It all comes down to them being not bad on defense. If they can even be just mediocre defensively they can make the Sweet 16. If not they're screwed

Still reverting back to the pro argument which has nothing to do with college basketball.

This is hard for you, apparently.

It's a hell of a lot more than that. JBo has to be effective coming back from double hip surgery. Joe F has to stay healthy and not have a sophomore slump (happens a lot). Joe W has to be able to consistent. Nunge has to stay healthy (something he has yet to do). Patrick McCaffery has to provide production (has yet to play meaningful minutes and with COVID could decide to opt out this season due to his condition).

Garza will be good like he was last year, but might dip a bit in production. The question marks will be those stated above AND the fact they need to have production from a couple of their freshman, including their freshman post player.

It all comes down to defense. Their offense will remain the same but 97th in AdjD puts their ceiling very low

Oh for sure. Unless something surprising happens, their defense will be bad again, honestly just like ours.

Iowa State had a really good class and Prohm nailed the transfer season. Prohm can actually recruit so I would expect another good class in 2021. It's not hard to see that things are going to improve significantly.

We have length and that's what Prohm needs to not suck at defense. Ideally we could get back to our defense from the 2018-19 season which was just OK
