Well TJ walked into as bad of a situation as you can imagine in Ames. I'm curious what your preseason All Iowa/Iowa State team would look like. Mine would look like this:

So, University of Wyoming is a high major also? They have won one national championship, made 6 elite eights, and in last 35 years made one sweet sixteen. UNLV has one national championship, made 5 elite eights and in last 30 years made one sweet sixteen. And they both play in same conference.
Iowa basketball lives for December so you have to figure that in.
I'm not too worried about it although I suppose at least making that game worth watching would be nice.
Next season for TJ will be to see if he can revive Hilton again and look for positive things going forward.
I had heard TJ was setting up for the long rebuild (cleaned some house even if it meant he lost talent last season) but obviously wasn't going to turn ISU down when it came available.
If Raveling's last year was 20-12 (10-8) and Dr Tom's last year was 20-10 (9-7), did Dr Tom leave Iowa in any better shape?

TJ got SDSU when they were doing well. He left SDSU in a good place, 24-9 his final year. His replacement, Eric Henderson, has since gone 22-10 & 16-7. GTFOH with that uninformed crap. TJ was brought into UNLV for the long haul and he had a down year last year (not even bringing up all the COVID and injury issues his team had). He left for his dream job and didn’t have time to prove himself at UNLV. You can’t judge him any differently than that.
That's not how this works.
Bill Foster's last year at Duke was 24-9 (7-7) and won a conference tournament championship.
Coach K's Duke in 20-21 was 13-11 (9-9).
Good thing he's coming back next year to hopefully leave Duke in a better spot than he got it.
Been a while since they been a good or even decent high mid-major but they are indeed a high mid-major.

The last few decades Wichita has probably been better and I wouldn't call them a high major.

They are a recognizable name outside the P6. Peeps will actually know their nickname. Based on performance they ain't **** but still have the recognition and that was enough for TJ to take a job there (which I thought was weird at the time).
Yeah that's probably a lot closer.
I know if I were a coach I'd take a lot of other mid jobs over the UNLV one. Lots of better MW, CUSA, AAC, A10 jobs.
