The Fran fade

Was watching WHO-TV and John Sears showed video of Garza shooting around the NBA 3 point line the other night. Hmmm.... maybe.......

My goodness. The clip shows them playing a conference game with George Washington! LOL that says all we need to know. They are ranked somewhere in Florida A & M territory.

My goodness. Toppin carried his team and didn't fade. Lol that's all we need to know

Ja Murant dominated low level teams too. Does that mean he wasn't that good? Absolutely not. Gonzaga plays in a weak conference does that mean their team / players shouldn't be recognized? Absolutely not.

Toppin is going to be a top 5 draft pick, played on a terrific Dayton team, and was an absolute highlight reel. It was a toss up between him and Garza and Garza lost. Garza not receiving this doesn't take away from what he did this year.

We might have a case for hottest take of the year.. I can't find the Tweet because it's been deleted but here is what an Iowa fan said.

"Garza has better numbers in a better conference. I seriously think this game down to the fact Garza is white."

I realize "game" should be "came", but that's what this guy said and that's how I shall leave it.

I'm not sure what was more impressive, Garza's season he put together or how quickly he got the hell out of Iowa City so he could get back to developing his game?
Are coaches even allowed to work players out right now? If not then not that surprising.

Toppin is fabulous. Not arguing that point at all. Where he is going in the NBA draft should never be a factor in college recognition. I'm biased and admit it. I just think when it's that close that the level of competition that it was done against should be considered. We'll never know but maybe Toppin would put up similar numbers in the BIG 10. I'd be willing to bet that Garza would probably have put up even bigger numbers in Toppins conference.

Toppin won it because Dayton was a lot better than Iowa

Admit it you trying to say biased when it is a tough pill to swallow for hawk fans, when all it is bitterness. Now you are throwing your typical trash about in conference comparisons into it. Obviously the coaches thought he was better than Garza also. I wonder if the coaches thought about how Garza would have done if he was in the Atlantic 10. Get over it!

Toppin just a little more explosive/athletic than Garza and better wheels when looking at highlights. Never really saw Garza grabbing a rebound and sending it home either.
