The Expanse on Amazon

I started rewatching last season. I would love to rewatch it all, but that’s too much of a time commitment.
I started last week. Half way through season 2. I'll see how far I get. Enjoying seeing how the different characters developed over the years.

Ever wonder how differently things would have worked out if Holden hadn't undeleated and logged that distress call? Gives new meaning to the phrase "No good deed shall not go unpunished."

Will probably finish up the season with watching the Finale this weekend. So far it's been pretty good. Full disclosure: I do love me some sci-fi. Disappointed that Amos and Bobbie haven't space Naomi and Holden. Good lord I do hate those two characters

Not sure how they are going to wrap this up to any sort of even temp conclusion in just another 45 minutes.

Finished watching the series. It got the GOT treatment. There was so much potential in this season. Everything just seemed rushed with only the high points being touched. Wished they had stretched it out over more episodes.

Still a solid effort and series.

Just finished it. I read somewhere that it had a demanding budget, which is why they probably had a reduced season and why Amazon canceled it. Amazon also canceled Bosch, which was odd, picked up the new spin-off series, but is sending it to its ad-based sub-platform ImdbTV, so we could see something on there in the future.

The showrunners do want to make more content since there are 3 books left in the series, but set a few decades later with all new characters.

Anyway, I'm not a sci-fi person, but I loved it and hate to see it end.

Stretched out The Expanse, The Witcher and The Wheel of Time in 2022 but finished with all of them now. Have entered the "Now What?" zone.

Going to miss having some solid Class A sci-fi on TV. Was hoping to see Amos and Bobbi space Naomi and Holden but guess that was just too far afield from the book. Still would have pleased me a lot. ;)

And, if there isn't some TV sci-fi in production on what is Anna Hopkins going to do for a living?

I've read the books and I've thoroughly enjoyed the show. Sad to see it end. I'll say I think the show is better than the books, I just think the actors who played Amos, Bobbi, and Avasarala really elevated their storylines. Honestly I might be alone in the fandom for liking Holden and Naomi, I think they played their parts well. The Expanse was unique in it's ability to do what I call grimy sci fi, but have it be hopeful at the same time. That's tough and it's a testament to the story and world created by the writers. Great job.

Thought that was a great article wrapping up the show.

Great show and great book series. I though they did a really good job of wrapping up Season 6 given the constraints. Satisfying ending for the characters. Had me on the edge of my seat (I won’t say more to avoid spoilers). Would make a fine finale if it’s truly the end.

It’s clear to me that they are planning or at least setting the stage for the show to continue given the setup of the Laconian plot. I loved the last 3 books (Book 8 was my favorite of the entire series) and they finished the series strong, one of the better endings to a long series Here’s to hoping for more - Remember the Cant!

I watched the finale last night and the ending was alright, but it still feels like it came right in the middle of a book. So many open stories that were hurried or just glossed over.

I will say, I'm EXTREMELY surprised they even started the Laconia/Duarte plotline. It's not like they didn't know the future of the show if they only got 6 episodes for this season. I would have left that out entirely and just gone with the Marco/Filip war with the belt plotline and tried to wrap that up with a little more detail.

Ozark Season 4 starts January 21st. The Ozarks are basically outer space so it should count as "Sci-Fi".

And I have not watched Expanse at all but it was recommended recently to me so I will definitely be starting that up tonight.

And then the ridiculous way they ended it.
"Oh hey there Marcos, we don't need you anymore. We have children of the undead here! Bye!"
Seriously???

I like the way they wrapped up the series. However this season as a whole was too short, not the usual 10-13 episodes. I thought the ambiguity of what Bobby was going to do at the end of bar scene was pretty funny.

Thinking some of what peeps are complaining about is related to (1) cost limiting them to six episodes (2) bit of continuing story teaser in hopes it gets picked up for more seasons by someone. Don't think it's likely to get picked up, too expensive. We were lucky it didn't die short of any conclusion after Syfy dumped it. I was shocked at the high quality of this when it debuted on Syfy considering their history of spending only for low quality productions and them dumping series in mid-story.

Just started this show a couple months ago after reading some reviews of it and I have to say this is one of my favorite shows of all time. Just great show in so many aspects. Will be sad to see it end.

Agreed, and there were some absolutely breathtaking space action sequences which had to be incredibly pricey. I was watching when they cancelled it and I was really bummed. The fact this got any ending is amazing and I'm so grateful for it.

Huge fan of the show and agreed the ending was fitting given the constraints by production. I have not read the books but plan to at some point soon to see how things compare.

As we are all confessing, I am a pretty big sci-fi fan. Thought this show was engaging from a hard sci-fi stand point but still created stories and characters that were worth investing in.

I will miss it for sure. Amos Burton 4lyfe (see new profile pic)!

Some of my favorite scenes, including some of my favorite scenes in the show, including just some amazing space battles:

Roci Vs. Serrio Mal S5E7

Drummer's Speech before entering the ring S3E9

"I am that guy"

"How about now"

Your two Amo's scenes are total winners. :)

Yeah, I just want to add that it’s pretty amazing we got a 6 year run in the first place. But Im greedy, and I really want to see the last three books adapted!
