The Best Team Lost...Again

I'm tired of it happening, but TOE has to be the luckiest group I've ever seen. I went back and watched some of it again (as painful as it was) and it just jumps off the screen how much better we are than them. Yet somehow, we would have some bogus penalty, or some other crazy play to kill our momentum. I feel like we would beat them 9 out of 10 times, but it's their Superbowl, so they can have it and be mediocre all year. Let's get to the Big 12 title game.
You sound like the football version of Aaron White.

That joke has already been played out and it’s not even close to the same thing.
Why?
Aaron actually thought his team was better. Even though they kept losing.
His comments were perfect cannon fodder for us Cyclones. Just as these comments are perfect cannon fodder for the TOE.

You might be right. Seemed like he played pretty well and you know he’s a real cerebral player back there after that great play on 4th down to save us yards instead of getting the pick. Get our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th CB back and I’ll feel much better about the defense since that spot seemed to be the weak link in week 3.

Who's your 2, 3, and 4 CB?

Fair point but that's the only aspect where we were outplayed. We should've won by 2 touchdowns still. Some blown calls, and blown opportunities, bad snaps, weird circumstances just stopped our momentum. It was so easy to move the ball, and if they ever called holding on Iowa, I'm not sure they would've had more than 5 first downs all night.

JFC, let it go, we stepped on our dicks and lost. On to the next game.

Game is over, lets move on with the season predictions. I think both teams have pretty solid seasons.

ISU:
UNI - W
Iowa - L

--------------------
LA-M - W
Baylor - W
TCU - L*
WV - W
TT - W
OSU - W
OU - L
Texas - L
KU - W
KSU - W*

KSU and TCU W/L are interchangeable. End up 8-4 (6-3) regular season or 7-5 (5-4) with an unexpected WV/BU/OSU loss.

Iowa:
Miami - W
Rutgers - W
ISU - W
---------------------

MTS - W
Michigan - L
PSU - L*
Purdue - W
NW - W*
Wisc - W
Minn - W
Illinios - W
Neb - L

PSU and NW W/L are interchangeable. End up 9-3 (6-3) regular season or 8-4 (5-4)with an unexpected Purdue/Minn loss.

I could see it being fairly close to this for both teams.

I would swap Baylor and TCU for ISU's W/L.

Iowa having PSU/NW as W/L either-or seems logical. I'll pencil in a loss at UW.

Julius Brents, Matt Hankins and Riley Moss were all out that game. Not a fun proposition if you're a DC going up against an accurate passer having to sit back in a zone.

I didn't have a good feeling throughout the game settling for FGs instead of TDs. Ultimately, Iowa was able to control TOP, keep it close, and Murphy's Law bit ISU in the end.

Any number of things could have swung things in your favor, so I'm happy to escape with a win.

Blame should be placed on staff who handles scheduling. Bye week before Iowa was a killer. Get another game under our belt in week Two and we work through most of those mistakes

I agree, Iowa had a huge advantage getting that extra game in. Nothing substitutes for live action. Even with that advantage, if the refs call 25% of Iowa’s holds, we win by 10+ points.

Moss is awful. Hankins was getting picked on game one and I don't know who Brents is. Sounds like a recruiting issue

I wish Moss would've been healthy if he would've started. I saw some of that Purdue game. He might be the worst D1 DBs I've ever watched. Didn't their DC used to coach defensive backs? Weird that they can't get any good ones anymore.

I haven't watched Baylor at all this year, do most of you guys think they'll be tougher than TCU? The Frogs looked pretty good against PU, but I'm in a wait and see pattern with Duggan.

You're probably right on Wisc, but the optimist in me says Iowa is due. They had a great shot last year and came up short, hope it goes our way this year. They've looked good against a couple cupcakes so far, tomorrows game will be a much better indicator of where they're at.

Hard to keep track of a bunch of no name garbage players.
So can someone confirm this is the same Iowa fan that was able to keep in character for quite a while until his predictions got over the top? Someone help me out with the screenname.....

What are you talking about?

So it goes

1. Ojemudia
2. Hankins
3. Moss
4. Brents
5. That Johnson kid that got torched?
3 and 4 are switched, but you knew that. Pretty impressive #1 and #5 still won us a rivalry road game by limiting a B12 team with a ton of QB, RB, and WR talent to 17 points.

Did you want to talk about the rest of ISU's season at all or just Iowa's corner back depth?

Riley Moss is better than that Johnson kid? Yikes for Johnson
