The Avengers

Great movie. Lots of stuff in there for the general public and comic book nerds. The first credit scene was badass, though I predicted it was coming, and I can't wait to see where they go with this in Iron Man 3 and the Avengers 2.

Don't want to spoil it for anyone, but the comic book series that revolved around the character at the end was my favorite growing up.

Saw this last night (actually one of two movies - I also saw Dark Shadows). Very good. Can't wait until it's on Blu-Ray now.

I 've been to it twice now, the movie is just amazing. Every character is handled well, although I could've used some more Thor but that is a minor complaint. Lots of holy **** moments throughout and I'm looking forward to seeing how they advance the marvel movie universe from here.

I thought there would be a couple more Thor moments, too, but I call it minor as well.

Amazing film. I'll see it again at the end of May. And again and again on DVD.

I really liked how they portrayed the respect Cap commands from all of these heroes. They really captured that traditional leadership role he's always played on the team very well.

I never thought the Hulk could be so awesome and so funny. They put in some work there that I never believed was really possible.

I thought so too. I thought they even did a great job with Hawkeye and Black Widow even though they didn't have their own movies going in. Everyone had some great moments.

Saw it a few nights ago....I'm not a comic book person at all, but thought it was really good. I hope if they make a 2nd one, it doesn't lose much of anything :)

I'm not a comic book guy and I hadn't seen most of the other super heroes movies but I really liked this movie. I expected a movie with this many stars to fall flat but they did a great job of involving all the main characters without making it feel forced. Perfect summer action movie.

Definitely buying the DVD package. Ironman, Hulk,Thor and Loki brought a lot to the movie. The choice of the actor for Loki was excellent.

I would love to see them get their *** handed to them in the sequel. The big thing that takes away from movies is that we know the good guys are going to win. I think it'd be great if we got a "Empire Strikes Back" type of movie. Thanos give it to them in the second and they give it right back in the third.

Saw it last night. Very well done. Extremely close to a comic book. Will be absolutely huge.

From interviews with Whedon it sounds like this is exactly what he wants to do if he directs the sequal.

It was Incredible. Since Spider-man is coming out this summer, I suspect he will be in the next avengers movie, because he was an avenger in some of the comics. Can you imagine Avengers 2 with Spider-man? That would be the "biggest" movie in history.

The one with or without Tobey Maguire? I have a hard time seeing Maguire's Spiderman meshing with those characters, and it probably doesn't help that he portrayed Peter Parker more as a whiny little ***** than super hero. However, the new Spiderman appears to have of an edge/attitude which that character could probably fit in better with the Avengers.

Someone doesn't understand how movie rights work. Haven't you ever wondered why there had been no major team ups in the past? Columbia pictures owns the film rights to Spider-man, just like Fox owns the rights to the X-men and Fantastic Four. The only reason the Avengers happened is that Marvel took a risk and formed their own movie studio and reacquired rights to characters that didn't have movies made yet (or in the case of the Hulk had a crappy movie made). So unless Marvel/Disney shells out an amazing amount of money to reacquire the rights to Spider-man there is no way in hell he'll ever appear in an Avengers movie. I'd rather they went with more of the classic characters anyway, like Black Panther and Ms. Marvel.

Marvel is owned by Disney now. They pretty much have more money than anyone. If they wanted to re-aquire the movie rights to their characters, they could. That being said, I doubt we'll see Spiderman or Wolverine in an Avengers movie anytime soon.

I think the buyouts are larger than you'd imagine. Not only straight up cash buyouts, but probably portions of the profits of the upcoming movies. Hell look at the Avengers, Paramount had distribution rights before Disney bought Marvel. Disney bought out the Paramount deal, and Paramount did pretty much nothing when it comes to distribution. Paramount still got their logo before the opening credits and Disney isn't even mentioned until the end credits.

Sony has the rights to Spider-Man movies, not Marvel.
Comes from the days before Marvel made their own movies.

Never mind. It was already there, and I think Columbia is the right answer.
