The Avengers

Is Cap's identity a secret? I'm almost positive that it is or was. The reason I ask is why would they make it a point to show him getting his cowl pulled off? He then fights the rest of the battle and has a post fight meal without it. I'm wondering if it's a plot point for the next Captain America movie.

Ok, I'm going to throw this out here and see if anyone who is more knowledgible about the Marvel universe can help out.
I had a question regarding The Hulk.
Why is it, that when he Hulks out on the helicarrier he can't control himself and attack everyone, but when he Hulks out later he is a team player and just smashes aliens?

My only theory was that because he Hulked out on purpose against the aliens that he was able to channel his outburst. I'm just not sure if that is a valid theory.

Any Marvel experts have any thoughts?

I'm going with an assumption that Loki influenced his loss of control on the Helicarrier. Once he was just operating under his own anger, and Cap gave him that "Hulk............Smash" command, he was pretty giddyangry about things, and went about doing what he knows best.

So, my assumption is all about Loki's influence.

Yeah, he was pretty mad at SHIELD when on the helicarrier as well. He thought he was being used and he knew they would try to dispose of him if he lost it. That, aside from any Loki influence may have attributed to his lack of control.

He is always angry.
The Loki angle is the way I justify it or make sense of it. It might be something else, but that makes sense to me.

Loki was influencing everyone including the Hulk to turn on each other and that was his intention all along. Remember when Banner picked up the scepter when they were all arguing. That was all Loki's manipulating. Loki is the "trickster," remember that's what he does best.

Yes it is but nobody in modern times really knows who Steve Rogers is.

See, that's why I'm wondering if it could become a big deal in the next Cap movie. He ought a good portion of that with his identity exposed. There were a lot of witnesses and I'm sure one or two of them had their phones out and would be willing to sell the footage.

Yeah I don't really see much of a hidden identity story to be made there. Anyone he would have cared about (friends, family) is probably dead by now. Unless they have someone go after his descendants, a nephew or something. All the people he would consider friends now are pretty much super heroes.

EDIT: I did think the same thing at first though when they seemed to place some emphasis on the shot of him getting his mask peeled back and making eye contact with Chrissy Seaver so maybe they're going somewhere with it.

One of them isn't dead. I can almost guarantee that Bucky comes back at some point as Winter Soldier.

He's obviously hiding his identiy from the rest of the world. Why else wear the mask. Now that Steve Roger has been "exposed" he won't be safe in his "civilian" life either.

I forgot about him picking up the scepter. That is concrete proof of Lokis influence.

BTW, I really like the actor they brought in for Loki. He is awesome in that role. Especially when being thrown around like a rag doll. HAHA!

The look on his face following was priceless.

Do you guys think kids that are 5 (about to be 6) are old enough to see this movie?

Not sure. It's a bit violent and the Chitauri are pretty scary. My son is 4 (almost 5) and I think the he would have been scared in the first few minutes when they are first showing the Chitauri up close. He probably would have been ok for a lot of the movie though.
