Texas Tech not televised?

We have the Total Choice Plus package with Directv and have always gotten FCS games in the past without the sports pack. I don't know if it will be that way this year or not.

I have Dish Network, the middle package which includes several local television channels-- any shot I get the game? If not, anyone know what I have to do to get the game?

Maybe the hotel in Farifield, IA that my cousins wedding reception is at will have this channel, probably not. Damn Missourians

Question for you DirectTV subscribers out there:

We have Cox cable here, and I can call them on Saturday morning, sign up for the Sports tier at $5-$6/month (can't recall exactly). After watching the game I can call them back and cancel the sports tier and get charged for 1/30 of a month, or less than twenty-five cents to watch the game.

How does this work on DirecTV? Do you have to subscribe for a full month, or can you get the sports tier for just a day at a time?

I'm wondering about Dish Network as well. We get every channel under the sun so I'm hoping its on there somewhere. Isn't the same channel the Utah game will be on as well? I better not get screwed three weeks in a row on watching ISU

Used to be able to do this, but now they make you wait the full month or at least bill you the whole month.

I did this a few years ago a bunch of times and it would cost less than a $1 to watch a game and then just cancel it online right after.

DirecTV got wise though.

I think us Dish Network people are screwed.

Gotta love the Big 12 television deals. To make matters worse, we are giving up our tickets to the game because my wife's friend is coming to Iowa City (where my wife and I live) and wants to go tailgate Saturday.

Cox HD in Omaha carries FCS.

You were wise, O kema sabe. You probbaly were the one that caused their policy change. Just for the record, single event football for the Huskers is $40 a pop, so a buck was a good deal.

If you cancel it within 30 days they charge you $10 which is almost as much as it would cost for a month anyway.

The wife almost had us cancelling Mediacom and switching to DirectTV. In the end, couldn't go there after seeing Mediaom on our scoreboard at Jack Trice last week and knowing the game would not have been televised if they hadn't done it.

No way to love 'em, but at the end of the day, DirectTV does not support ISU athletics to the extent Mediacom does.

I know it is like putting lipstick on a pig, but couldn't in good faith cancel my service...

FCS, ugh

1. ABC/ESPN/ESPN2
2. Versus (anyone in an NHL city vastly prefers this over Fox Sports Net, everyone has it)
3. Fox Sports Net
4. Clone Zone streaming like last week
5. FCS
6. No TV

At least it's not last on the 6 tiers of Big 12 football TV hell.
